Love this track, takes a couple listens to catch all the details, but the good thing is it doesn't feel like 11 minutes. :D Eager to hear the rest! Any tips on getting that tin can djent sound of the rhythmic part? Turn cab off? xD

Wintersun

I think mostly the djent sound is created by boosting a lot of mids / upper mids before the preamp (and cutting bass frequencies), whether it be right from the source meaning the guitar pickups or secondly putting an EQ or a booster pedal in front of the preamp (the Precision Drive does this nicely). It's kinda like the "Wah-Wah" pedal effect when it's pushed fully down making the sound thin and "klangy". You can get very creative with this and create fun and weird sounds. And if the sound becomes too thin, you can compensate with post EQ to get the bass frequencies back, but still retaining the "klangy" character. Generally though for me, not my cup of tea, although never say never. :) I could use it maybe for an effect for a part or something, but overall my taste is the more the traditional "Metallica" type Mesa Boogie tone. - Jari p.s. Turning the cab off makes it go more black metal territory. :D
