Great to see more of the story behind this amazing find. You get a real feel for the excitement they must have felt when they saw the geophys results and realised they had found the abbey. Looking forward to further updates.

Patricia Amero

Oh WOW 😮 I wish I lived closer, I would certainly take you up on this incredible offer. I hope someone from our group joins the excavations.

Kerry Hennigan

Why, oh why do I have to live so far away... thank goodness for Dig Highlights videos. Keep 'em coming, please! xxx

John Melka

All I can do is watch, back and knees didn't survive 2010. i'd kneed a lift crane to stand after 10 mins of a dig.

John Melka

How about I'd need (damn psychospell)

Helen Kohn

This was a really good episode would love to see more of this dig and other short updates like this from other dig sites. it's a really lovely short format. :)

Matthew Adams

Really looking forward to seeing more of this. BTW - every other Patreon of which I am a member has a lovely Discord channel. It feels like this is ripe for something like that! I'd love to be able to chat properly to the other folk here.

Jessicka Catherine

It's a shame that patreon doesn't have more of a community chat type function!

Melissa Rybb

Was there a Dig Watch for this?

Melissa Rybb

That sounds good as long as it's secured to us only. Discord is so cesspitty

Matthew Adams

Yes. I only do patreon-only discords to avoid all that.

No, there's no separate Dig Watch coverage for this site, as we were dropping in on an excavation led by Hugh Willmott of University of Sheffield and the Cerne Abbey Research Project. We featured it in Time Team News, and will be returning again to cover this summer's excavations. More details to follow, thanks
