Day 1 and I'm buzzing with excitement! So many compelling questions & possibilities... this is what happens when you marry science & experience! Thank you Time Team Dig Watch

Wessex-Wyvern

I hope the weather improves for you! I want to see all four trenches...

Terri Brown

Good to see Operation Nightingale back at it again too

Jon Colcord

Is it really that cold there now? They look like they are dressed for late fall or early spring!

Sarah Mooring

The UK 'summer' weather has been dreadful this year.

Kerry Hennigan

Wow, what an intriguing site. Hope there's time to dig all the trenches!

Evelyn G Kimbrell

Wish we could have a copy of the geophysical map to refer to as we follow you around on the site.

Thanks Helen and the rest of the team you're doing an amazing job in spite of the weather cheers!! Nic

Carol Overrill

You have chose a rotten week for it I reckon. Forecast seems awful. Hope it brightens.

Jon Colcord

So in other words, it has been perfect for Time Team digs.

JUDITH COOKE

Looking forward to the discoveries from this very interesting and complex site.

Eggs Ackley

Give Richard some longer fly-away hair and a striped jumper and someone might take him for a latter-day Professor Mick 🌈😬

Mac Whatley

Is this a real Time Team dig or one of those extended cooperative digs with Project Nightingale? Apparently it's taking a week or more, not 3 days, and only Helen is involved? Looking like a Digging for Britain episode with Helen instead of Alice Roberts.

TimeTeamOfficial

Hi Mac, it's all real! But yes, as a collaboration with Operation Nightingale and Cotswold Archaeology, it's a different approach to the traditional 3-day Time Team format (more like the Aldbourne Band of Brothers dig). We're still doing the 3-day digs, while having the flexibility to complement these with other projects as fits the site. We'll also be seeing more members of the team besides Helen over the course of the dig / in the final episode.

Let’s goooo!!! ⚔️⭐️👏👁️

Looking forward to this one. Hoping the four trenches all get opened.

I've had a busy few days, but now have time to watch everything so far, and once again loving what I see.

As an Anglo Saxon fan I’m feeling rather spoilt! Thanks so much for doing this so soon after Sutton Hoo!
