As part of the latest Time Team podcast, Helen Geake and Martyn Williams spoke to Time Team's Carenza Lewis.

She's a key part of our dig in the village of Norton Disney, helping to unearth the true beginnings of the Disney family, and much more. Here, exclusively for Time Team members, you can watch an extended version of the conversation.

What are your thoughts on our first Norton Disney episode? We'd love to hear from you in the comments.

Plus, if you want to ask Helen a question on a future episode then our community chat page is always available. Simply type your question to Helen and we'll do our best to get you an answer!

Another fascinating talk! I would like to know, please, how the dimensions of the various test pits differ? Are they always of the same size or are they of different lengths, widths and depths according to where they are being dug? Chrina

I like the biopsy analogy! Norton Disney has been a really fascinating story, I have learnt a lot and enjoyed participating from a distance but still feeling involved. The first ‘to air’ episode started to reveal just how much had been discovered and I look forward to the remaining episodes as the programme reaches its climax.

It was a truly amazing experience - so excited to watch episode one already. My brother Robert was so pleased to be able to offer pit 14 in his beloved garden right on the edge of the village 😊

Truly a great dig! Great exemplar of research and “community science”. I really liked the bits about finds vs. features and tuning research questions to methodology.

Speaking of those dodecahedrons, are there any serious theory about their purpose?

Richard Linley

Ooo! Carenza was in Canada! I hope we proved a hospitable lot.

An interesting idea rhR worked well. The American lady came across as really professional too. Well done everyone👍👏👏👏👏

I’m a 20+ year Time Team double member and fan, have watched their episodes probably a thousand times. Yes I’ve watched many many times! Carenza is one of their top and most favorite archeologists! I look forward to seeing her much in the future!! ❤️

The test pit 14 crew were a great bunch I loved helping you with your excavation. Looking forward to seeing all the Norton Disney episodes. Ivan

From watching quite a few Time Team episodes with test pits, it appears to be always a 1m by 1m pit, and you go down in 10cm steps until you either reach the "natural" (i.e. the ground level below any human intrusion) or you run out of time. Any one with more knowledge, please improve my answer which is certainly not perfect.
