You're invited to a special meet-up at the pub where the whole Time Team gang gathered to celebrate five years of the show's return. We say thank you to the fans who brought us back with an episode recorded at The George Inn, London.

Helen Geake and Martyn Williams chat to Sir Tony Robinson, John Gater, Gus Casely-Hayford, Jackie McKinley, Derek Pitman, Lawrence Shaw and many more. They reminisce on the last five years of adventures and answer questions sent in by Time Team members.

Not the same without vision, is it!

5 years already, time flies. I've been a patreon from the start, it's been well worth it in my view.

Excellent! Thank you all , it's really quite an emotional watch because I associate this and Time Team , as a whole , with many fond memories. Of Sundays which were the highlight of my televisual week , to chats with a dear friend , now departed this world and to a time when my horizons were broadened in the best possible way ! Time Team , the whole family , became my extended family! Thank you!

Congratulations on the achievements of the last five years of Time Team. It’s been an absolutely phenomenal experience being part of it, long may it continue, onwards and upwards. Great to hear all the excitement and celebration, even the wishful innovative burial practices.

Fantastic occasion - thank you! I could visualise every one who was spoken to but missed seeing everyone in person and glorious technicolour! Was Phil Harding there?!

Chef Tess

I've been a Patreon from the beginning. I felt it was a way to pay you all back for all the years of brilliant episodes, and an amazing amount of knowledge I've picked up over the years. Thanks for being here, and looking forward for the next years!

What a wonderful celebration 🍾 ❤️ 👏 😍!

I have been watching you so long, starting in the pandemic, that I can see all of your faces, the moment you begin talking! It's been more than 50 years since my three-year stay in England, living in Thornaby-on-Tees and Bristol. My two archaeologic celebrations were intimate encounters. The first was when I was a day labourer in Stockton and I stopped at Maiden Castle on the way to visiting my aunt in Weymouth. Climbing up the hill fort with no one else around filled me with an overwhelming wonder, having spent time shovelling a bit of dolomite gravel to prepare the pavement for a new housing development and imaging the construction of all those walls and ditches using only antlers and baskets. The Second was a visit to Stonehenge. It was at an evening event with colleagues in New Malden when I convinced a few of them to drive out and see the sunrise over the monument. After a leisurely drive through the darkness, we arrived there without seeing anyone else around. There were no barriers to cross and no entrance fees to pay. The sunrise was magnificent and as the world brightened we got back in the car and returned to London. It was the day before the solstice and the next day was rainy and overcast. At That time I was teaching at Withy wood Comprehensive in Bristol. If only knew then what I know now ;) As far as recent events go, I'm with Helen. The conversations between her and Jackie were wonderful. Filled with wonder, complexity and nuance, the new format is more immersive and intimate, where female voices have an expanded presence.

I am in Perth Western Australia and saw Sir Tony in his touring show yesterday… and bought his book! 📕 👍😎

Totally enjoyed this podcast. I think what's special to me about Time Team is that I feel I am amongst friends - even though I have never actually met any of you. TT is far and away the most engaging archaeology production I have ever watched. It makes me very happy that I am able to contribute in even such a small way to the sum total of human knowledge as discovered and elucidated by this great team. Thank you all.

I bet the team miss going to the pub at the end of every day for a massive beer every dig!

Opegasus

Superb. Here's to 5x5 more!

Mark Kenney

I've been so happy seeing all the new Time Team episodes in this new series! What a fun podcast to listen to, with all those gathered to celebrate a watershed moment. Five years, and hopefully many more to come!

Rob Erskine

A non visual conversation always shows such enthusiasm for a subject. Five years seems like one day with this crew. Great work by really dedicated experts.

Caroline W

Cadenza Lewis’ comments were quite moving. Her work inspires epiphanies and helps insure the future of archaeology. She is a treasure.

Kerry Hennigan

What a wonderful celebration this sounds! I had the pleasure of meeting Sir Tony after an event here in Adelaide, Australia last night, "An Evening with Sir Tony Robinson" which was, needless to say, WONDERFUL. In the book signing after the talk, I told him how I'd been inspired to write a report on the Bronze Age sewn-plank Dover Boat for my online Certificate course in Archaeology with Cambridge, because I'd always loved the Time Team special "The Boats That Made Britain," and he recalled the initial sinking of the replica!!!

Rebecca Clark

What a wonderful celebration and such a fantastic podcast. Congratulations on the 5 year anniversary. I loved Lawrence saying he would mess with future archaeologists by being buried with a robot arm, a crown and numerous gold rings 😂, while Helen would be more helpful with a detailed plaque!

Peter Hawker

Awesome, I had to check and I signed up in May 2021. I am looking forward to meeting Sir Tony, with VIP tickets to his show at the Sydney Opera House, on 24th Feb. Great to listen to you all having a get together.

Terri Brown

Congratulations and many more to come

Rhonda J Hunter

Loved this! Still missing Professor Mick Aston!

Paul Burgess

Wonderful podcast. So proud to be one of those that help make it happen from the very beginning. Pity we didn't hear from Tim or everyone's fav Phil was he there ? I'm sure we would of heard him 😂

Randolph

Wonderfull, haven't had a pint here before. CHEERS to TIME TEAM.

Des Bowring

I found the background noise and the need for people to shout very distracting. Is there a transcript?

Dr Richard Mellish

Not a query about this particular podcast but about how Time Team episodes were and are filmed. There are many sequences in Time Team episodes where the view switches between distant and close-up shots of two or three people having a conversation. A prime example is between 2:24 and 2:43 in the recently re-released episode on Brancaster. In the first close-up, not only is the person with the camera evidently nearby but they are walking with the Tony and Francis; yet in the distant shots no third person is to be seen. How are these sequences shot? Do the people in shot hold their conversation twice, to a script?

Felicity Fields

Absolutely loved this episode! Congrats on 5 years of "new" Time Team; I am so grateful that this is part of my life. :) I'm still working my way through the "old" episodes and loved hearing that Robin and Victor are remembered alongside Mic, as I enjoy all of them and was just remarking to my partner the other day how much I loved Robin's enthusiasm for his work.

Grampus854

Have got to this late, but congratulations to the whole team!

Mary Lu

I’m late in catching up, but it is so good to realize this project has succeeded. I discovered the new time team in July of 2022 and became a member. It’s been a real pleasure all along, and I look forward to the years of learning to come. Thanks to all of you!

Helen L Robinson

I'm also late in catching up with you all and watching Time Teams 2025 episodes. I think I joined up in early 2021 and have thoroughly enjoyed watching everything you have discovered, along with the wonderful images of various finds that we are able to turn around and see from so many different angles. I also love it when the history of a particular object is explained, & when various historians have added valuable information from old documents & the timelines have aided my understanding of a period in time. Sincere Congratulations to everyone involved both in front & behind the scenes & wishing you all the best for many more years to come.
