We're about to pre-release something very exciting...

Narrated by Sir Tony Robinson, Time Team’s John Gater revisits the spectacular remains of a neolithic ceremonial centre of epic proportions at the Ness of Brodgar in Orkney, for the final 2 weeks of 20 years of excavations.

The discovery was in part down to John when he undertook a geophysical survey in 2002 at the Ness of Brodgar which revealed a huge complex of monumental Neolithic buildings from the centuries around 3000BC.

Site Directors Nick Card, Prof Mark Edmonds and Anne Mitchell take John on an emotional journey through the two decades of work and he witnesses some extraordinary finds which are unearthed in the final moments of the dig.

So looking forward to this and what they find at this month's dig.

I was there 4 days before the closure, had a tour by Nick and spoke to John. The history that is woven into those stones now includes the essence of both of them. The Ness and its future exists now because of them and their team. My thanks go to all. Now bring it on. Large cows can jump.

Looking forward to it. If Druidism spread south from Orkney to Stonehenge and Avesbury, how'd it get there? Where did it come from? Is the Ness of Brodgar ground zero? - the origin of Druidism, or are there even older stone circles, etc. elsewhere?

Inez

When will the new excavations there start? John discovered new structures, obviously, and the did announce new digs earlier this year. Right?

Just last week I told my husband that we should soon visit Orkney again ... It's so extraordinary! I'm looking forward to watching this episode tomorrow and then I will wait patiently for news about the new dig! Thank you!

Very exciting, I was visiting there the day the carved stone ball was found. Hearing Time team was going there made me join as a Patreon member to support the ongoing work.

Why give the Pacific Standard Time - I had to look PST up? While Time Team might have lots of foreign members of Patreon it is based in Britain so GMT or BST ought to be used. I would imagine most people are aware of their local relationship to GMT more than any time zone other than their own.

Shooglinifty - Dig Deep. One for this summers well organised dig

Why can't we rewatch the program?
