I would love to visit the site, the breweries and the distilleries.

Wonderful! I was thinking about the possibility of limited small finds, around a cist structure, in such a prominent place. Could it have belonged to perhaps a such a great leader that once the burial ceremony had taken place,it became so sacred to those peoples that they didn't come close, but looked upon it in awe? Then kept their rituals to the other structures ? Fascinating and very exciting for the team ....have a wonderful dig and a few beers😏

So John is putting you on Orkney . A fascinating place

If it was a World War 2 gun emplacement wouldn’t there be a record of it and wouldn’t there be people with family memories?

Chris

Just noticed the Ness Time Team Badge motiv. I love it. 👍🤩

Eelco Kruidenier

I wish I could go there and have a tour with John as a guide.

Cath

Pam

Looking forward to following this adventure. Good luck and may the midges desist!

We were up close to Brodgar stone circle in November. Went past the Ness of Brodgar closed until this years dig. Also went up close to stones of stennes. Then saw Skara Brae. I wore my time team hat. The area is full of archeology

John is really shinning through for time team and you can see his passion and humour and it’s just lovely ! Johns always been an important part but this format allows John and the others like Helen, Jackie, Stewart to take a more leading role and it’s a treat for patrons ! These are smart, funny, passionate but just normal people and these videos allow patrons to see and experience it ! Great stuff

Wonderful! Though I was quite distracted by Johns pet midge wandering around his head whilst he was talking. 😃

Kathy Carlson

Brilliant--please keep these videos coming!!

Is there any celestial alignment - solstice, equinox, etc.? What was the shoreline near the circle like when it was built?

Anne Marie Anderson

I’m headed to Orkney on the ferry from Aberdeen on July 19th. I couldn’t be more excited!! Maybe I will get really lucky and they will still be digging. Cheering you on from the US!

Terry Cox

Not necessarily, no. Unlike the German fortifications on the Atlantic wall and in the Channel Islands, the British efforts were much more transient, often being just a ring of sandbags and perhaps a rough concrete base for a mount. Records can be patchy as a result.

Brett W Walters

Having these PODCAST conversations as videos are so much fun and interesting and more often than not hilarious, so enjoyable to see our TIME TEAM in the field doing what we have always wanted to see, the behind the scenes banter and discussions.

Lilli Haicken

Love to see Orkney and John and everything. Wish I could be there helping out!

Menetho

You can tell he feels under incredible pressure, having brought the Time Team machine into play, that this might to turn out to be an old septic tank or whatever. Stuart would never let him live it down. Not to worry, I'm sure it will be a success!!

Ann Nunez

Too bad you can't get Phil Harding out there with you

Dr Richard Mellish

Why do I get links to some Time Team podcasts that can be watched and some that are audio only?

Matthew Rice

Distillery for Helen, Brewery for John, Matt & Phil, get the team back together!!
