Super awesome, Tim! Keep on, keeping on :-)

Matt

Sounds very positive!

Daniel Sini

A great possible list! Wish we could have a Mesolithic/Neolithic site too so we can possibly see some worked flint, but what ever site you dig I know it will be very exciting :)

Beate Heinze

I already love the sound of all the potential sites.

Phelim McIntyre

Sound brilliant. The Saxon/Tudor and WW2 sites are just up my street!

Zoe Propper

Very exciting. Such a wonderful sounding range of options. Looking forward to hearing more.

JIm ford

Yes time team is back at last well done all

Mr David J Cable

Great news! Intrigued by the Knights Templar site...

Carole Cox

This is so exciting! They all sound intriguing but I admit to leaning on the Roman Fort. Perhaps Guy will chip in! Reading his books now.

Didi Sinclair

Very exciting!! I'll look forward to each and every step as you go forward.

Wade Jones

All sounds amazing 🤩 I do have a soft spot for Roman fort, but a Saxon battlefield sounds intriguing.

Patsyconn

Oooh! I’m so excited by this! Love the Knights Templar! Fascinating! Can’t wait!!!!!

Jennifer Sapp

These updates definitely make my days a little bit brighter. I check at least once a day to see how many patrons have joined the team. C’mon 3,000! Much love from Georgia, US!

April Keene

Will Phil be participating?

Clare McElroy

Thanks Tim! So exciting to hear the potential sites. Something I loved about Time Team was the variety but I lean towards Roman and Anglo Saxon Britain. Any and all will be fascinating!!

Ian Rodie

Some really good possibilites there. Well done.

Eggs Ackley

Brilliant! Don’t forget to line a couple of great digger drivers like the two Ians.

Vyacheslav Borzakov

Doesn't have to be some great castles and battle remains. Just good archeology and camera work. And a good host i guess, idk. <3

Howard Grove

All the sites sound exciting especially the knights templer.

Rachelle Gates

Wonderful news can’t wait all sites sound interesting. Thank you all for your hard work. Happy holidays and to a wonderful new year!

Dale Wilson

I'm looking forward to being a part of this adventure, rock on !

Cheryl Kurucz

Wonderful news although I’m not surprised that there was such a overwhelming response to the idea of another time team! I’m so excited and look forward to watching this adventure unfold!

Cheryl Kurucz

As for which site! I love them all and can’t wait for just one to be shown for all the archaeology loving viewers of Time Team like myself!

JUDITH COOKE

Sounds like Classic Time Team. Whatever, it will just be so exciting to have the Team back in the trenches.

Ruth Mastron

Exciting news!!! One lost medieval village is unfortunate--multiple lost villages sounds a bit careless! 8^D

Kylie Willison

Will we be able to watch it in Australia? We can't watch the current Time Team classics without a VPN.

Tanis Sugden

The prospects sound superb! I can't get enough of Time Team

Stian johansen

hello from Norway. has been a great admirer since I was a little boy. comes at the time you found the old coin factory. d was fun. now to what I miss. I hope you can take a little better time to stay 1 day longer on some of the explorations for 3 days being too scarce with time sometimes. mvh Stian A.Johansen

Virginia Yeatman

I only discovered TT 5 years ago in the US. I’ve watched all 20 seasons numerous times and I’m soo looking forward to a new TT!

Graham Dombkins

Great news! I look forward to joining you in this journey. :-)

rick pen

Shouldn't that be the other way around? Sites should go from possibles to probables, not the other way around.

Pat Sinatra

I’d like to revisit some of the sites which were chock full of archaeology that couldn’t be investigated in 3 days. There were a handful but I can’t name one at this moment.

Godfrey

fantastic list hopefully any endangered sites shoot straight to the front of the list

Chris Hughes

Great news and thanks for the update.

Vicky Stopp

I’d like to add my voice to Kylie Willison

Vicky Stopp

Pressed the wrong buttons as usual, when will we be able to see the time team shows in Australia?

heith Doty

I'm for all on the list thus far. But I'm also for going back to a few and pickup where they left off be it they ran out of time or just could not dig all of John's blobs like the island of mull or lots of other ones . 🤔 any word if Raksha or Matt will be coming back seems fitting they take over the rolls of the Tt vets or the lost ones . R.I.P to them .

David Boon

New sites will be great but a lot has moved on. It would be nice to see some new interpretations of previous sites. Technology in areas such as DNA are providing new insights and it would be great to see how they add to previous digs. It would be great to see these techniques in new digs too. I know that requires waiting for results beyond the three days of a dig but it would be worth it.

TimeTeamOfficial

Thanks David. We'll definitely make use of the best technology available to us and we'll be discussing the various tools and techniques available to today's archaeologists in more detail on Patreon in due course. DNA is an interesting area to explore further. The great thing about Patreon is that we can provide a bit more detail and analysis in the build up to and aftermath of the dig itself. It would be great to revisit some previous sites with today's tech – let's see what happens!

Dean Jones

I love anything Roman so that site gets my vote, I would love to know the cost of an episode back in the day but I bet the cost of the chopper was a pretty penny

Goijaart van Dijk

If Knights Templar sites outside of Britain are of interest to Time Team, there is the one in my village (Alphen, Netherlands) which is supposedly the northern most outpost of the Templars. There is nothing left on the surface and there have been later building activities on the site, and it has been dug before, but there are still a lot of unanswered questions around it. Main one: What did it look like?

Bernd Ebert

Another Idea would be to have a look on eastern European sites - since that area only became available for archeological digs about 25 ~ 30 years ago there is still a lot to be discovered - from the early medieval "conquest" of the eastern territories right up to WW2. With the dry summer the year before last there will be a multitude of sites that are begging to be researched.

TimeTeamOfficial

We caught up with Guy recently and will be sharing our interview very soon!

Tommy

I'm curious about geophysics, and whether there have been any progress in that area. An update on that topic would be great! :) I also have an idea: Perhaps some small finds can be reconstructed with photogrammetry and be uploaded to a time team Sketchfab site? That way we would all be able to examine some of the finds our selves in great detail from the comfort of our own homes wherever we might be in the world!

Doug Mackey

I honestly get dewy-eyed when I watch these updates, such is my love of Time Team.

Linda Allaire

Thank you for the update, and what great news! The iron age campsite with a tunnel sounds really exciting. I'm crossing my fingers there will be a few more prehistoric sites proposals in the upcoming list :)

Carole Cox

Wonderful! He has a fan in WV USA. Well, the entire team does. So excited for this!

Dr Andrew Jeffrey

Great stuff, Tim, and many thanks for the update. As a military historian, the D Day camp site sounds intriguing. One of the most interesting that I have looked at - purely above ground - is HMS Quebec at Inveraray on Loch Fyne. It was there that the Allies developed the amphibious techniques that saw them ashore in North Africa, Sicily and Normandy, and trained many thousands of sailors, soldiers and airmen involved in these landings. A very important site...and a rather nice place to visit!

Tony Clayton

That depends on Foxtel who hold the rights to Time Team in Aus.

Mark Lund

Im so excited its pathetic! I only came a cross this newTT project by accident today.

Larissa Spiker

He has two fans in WV! I always enjoyed listening to him.

Larissa Spiker

There's one terrific shot in one episode of the driver asleep. LOL

Hillfort Games

I’m a huge fan of Iron Age sites and I will vote for them first ...but as the first episode—and it does pain me; i would suggest Saxon or Roman because its more appealing to the masses to get interest in the campaign to secure funding for more episodes going forward.

Eggs Ackley

Not sleeping, just resting up for the next scrape. Have you viewed to two short videos on Utube, Time team Digital of Ian Barkley peeling a banana and feeding a grape to Paul Blinkhorn using the digger bucket? Superb craftsmanship!

Futrettamer

I totally agree. I'm writing a novel set in the early iron age, so I'd love to see that period, but yes, the Romans or something else popular, like Tudor or Saxon, might be best to start with.

Sarah Holloway

I am so pleased Time Team is returning and am personally very interested in Roman sites. I am looking forward to all episodes though as whatever period it will be great .

mike conner

I discovered Time Team a little less than a year ago on YouTube. It rekindled my interest in archeology and history as well as helping me make it through a very tough year. As far as questions are concerned, If you reach your goals how many episodes of the New Time Team can we expect ?

Stian

MRF! (Massive Roman fort!)
