Christopher Samuel

Oh fabulous, can't wait for the rest of this episode!

Stephanie Stewart

Just like old times. Looking forward to next week. Congrats TT

Mark & Jill Jefson

Marvelous! Looking forward to the rest on both sites.

Meredith Klinger

Feels like the team is really getting into their groove on this dig.

Stephen Walls

It's going to be an interesting three days. Can't wait!

Theresa Crubaugh

Beautifully done! It felt totally like the old Time Team. I'd say the editing team has done it! But I would still love to see what was edited out. Oh, and when it ended, I wanted it to go on to day 2! Which is perfect! Leave it with more anticipation.

Bob Pockney

Wonderful first episode. Congratulations all.

Sarah Holloway

It was wonderful to be watching Time Team again and it was so good .

Nathan Lyons

So far, I'm getting a very good vibe from this site!

Jon Colcord

Love it! Can’t wait for the rest! Great to see Neil again, as well as Suzannah, and some time with our new digger Hilde! I feel some suspense brewing for day two! I feel like a pub may need to be employed soon! Cheers!

AnneMarie Dranchak

Data, digging, discussion, description, and disagreement. So good to see this again! Looking forward to next weekend.

Stitch

While I’m always fascinated with a good dig, I really enjoyed the inside tour of Broughton Castle. Seems like Time Team is getting back into the groove. Looking forward the final two episodes.

James Leighninger

Great!! Will watch it again as Episode One on Friday, in case I missed something! Looks like some good finds ahead! Gus sounds more comfortable and confident!

Mariah

I had not thought about how villas might have big formal gardens! One thing from the history I would like to know more about is exactly who became/are the underclass associated with them — the servant and enslaved people. Who were they, local people? What determined your fate there as Roman social structure moves in? Where did they live and what finds are associated with them?

Richard Stedall

a great first part to what appears to be another highly interesting dig

Norine Nagle

So exciting and it seems much better interpersonal relationships among the crew - both the originals and the newer people and Dr. Gus the coordinator.

Mrs Mary Ellen Johnson

Thank you for bringing back Time Team and making my day lol. God bless you all love and hugs Mary-Ellen UK

Gary Mortimer

That was great, getting back into TT stride. Love it.

Eggs Ackley

Hypocaust tile in all the trenches! Lots of wood to fire that system. No wonder they switched from tile roofing to stone, no trees left in the area.

Freda Bradley

This was really good. I loved how Natalie was explaining things at the end. I hope we see more of her! The dig itself is so complicated I can't imagine any but the old team could pull the organization of it all into 3 days time.

Richard Barnes

Can’t wait to see how you resolve the crop mark square with the radar picture! Great to see you back Time Team!

Bob Junior

Nice this site is very intresting. Good episode!

Cheryl Kurucz

Oh my, that was enthralling!!!! I can't wait to watch it again this weekend! Another "Home Run" TT!!!! Thank you so much for making this Patreon so happy. : )

Diane Johnston

Agreed - and Dr Gus's dulcet tones bring an almost Attenborough kind of observational commentary.

Derek

Loved that. Can't wait for the rest of the story to unfold. Well done everyone. I'm already looking forward to new sites this year. Lets hope we can have more than 2... Onwards and upwards 🙂

Loz

I really, really enjoyed the first new dig episodes from Cornwall - and so far, this one's looking to be on a whole other level! Fantastic throughout, can't wait for parts 2 and 3 over next weekend. It's starting to feel like Time Team could be entering a new 'golden era'.

K

I'm confused... is there no way to stream this to my TV or tablet? Hard to see on my phone... 😃

Pete the sound man..!!

Yes there is if you look where the play button is you will see a square with 3 lines click that and any devices that you can stream to will show up in a list.. Good luck !!

TimeTeamOfficial

You could try downloading the Patreon app on your tablet or computer to watch it on, or just log into Patreon on a web browser on those devices. Alternatively you could cast/airplay/stream it via a device such as Chromecast or Apple TV if you wish for it to play on a TV. The 3 full main parts of the episode will be shown on YouTube next weekend and most devices will have a YouTube app that you can download and stream it on. Or again use a similar device to share it to a larger screen. Hope that helps!

Kay Theriault

Oh I'm getting all tingly excited about this one! :D

Kathryn

Wonderful!! I’m excited to see the rest!

Diana Patterson

I feel genuinely honoured to have my tuppence in the funding of this wonderful series. Giggle. Giggle!

Richard Moss

That was fantastic! As everyone else has said, it really feels like the new model Time Team has hit its stride. Gus and Natalie doing brilliantly, bringing their personalities and knowledge to the dig, and wonderful to have Neil back. Loved seeing the house too. So intrigued to see what comes up on Days 2 and 3. It was fascinating and I was enthralled. Roll on next weekend.

Kate

So much to look forward to.

Wulf Corbett

Onwards and downwards, surely :-)

Emma R

Anyone else get Phil energy from Matt when he interrupted the experts to basically say "Oi, I'm the one digging, and this aint no bath house" loved it!

Wulf Corbett

This is like nostalgia on tap. So wonderful to see familiar faces, hear familiar voices and all of them finding something new in something old...

Neil Baxter

Based on the time period, I thought I'd prefer the first dig, but based on day 1 in Oxfordshire, I've got a feeling it will be the Roman site that comes out on top! So good to be watching TT again after so long!

Margie Lewis

This is the first one that the head is too big for the hard hat, Can they make a special one for him ? so it fits better? I like how it is similar to the original Time team good job!!! keep the format I like it, I love it, want more of it

Sally Ramey

Roman villa digs are my favorite, so I really enjoyed this episode! I found this field on Google Earth and could see the faint shadow of the apparent villa. OMG, it is so HUGE! It makes the castle look so tiny by comparison. I also enjoyed seeing the hints of older architecture within the castle. The way the various visualization technologies were overlaid on the screen was incredibly helpful. Overall, fantastic episode - and I can't wait to see the next! I haven't been donating long - but I'd like to think I have at least bought lunch for a few people. :)

James D Speckart

It's a great start! I'm glad to see more of Natalie, and I'm happy to see some hints of Natalie and Gus becoming a bit more comfortable with asking probing questions of the experts--Tony was great at intelligently probing the experts about their logic, the evidence, and the historical context, and so Gus and Natalie can let their own curiosity and theories help us viewers to understand what the experts are thinking. Plus it's a lovely site, which always helps too!

Robert Boudreau

This is already exceeding all expectations, Emily is doing a wonderful job with the pace and format. Loving it!

Nathan Lyons

"Oh ar, Tony! If this is a bathhouse I'll eat me 'at!" I miss Phil.

Dinah Sanders

Just fantastic. Amazing directing of the episode to tie it all together!

Graham Dombkins

Another great episode. Such an interesting site and so many questions we have to wait to hopefully have answered. 😁 All the team is doing a really great job. Can’t wait to see the rest of it.

Sharyle Doherty

Wowza! What a fabulous preview! Can’t wait for more.

Michael Sperry

Magnificent! I can't wait to see Days 2 and 3!

Brian Perry

This site is going to be very special!

Wendy Harper

Fantastic guys this is such a great episode. Really looking forward to parts 2 & 3.

Joy Ann Cox

Fantastic…can’t wait to see the rest!

Donna Oglesby

From what I have seen thus far, this new Dig is gonna be amazing. When the first one started with New Presenter Gus, I didn't hold much for him, only cause I felt he was replacing Sir Tony, but as I watched the first new one, I was impressed, he's doing a great job in learning about everything, as Tony did so many yrs ago, and a great asset to the Team! Bravo Guy!! Well Done. Still have no idea WHY they have TWO presenters. Think Gus is Very capable on presenting alone. Look forward to this second dig, and then What will be coming in 2022 digs??

Roger Mills

I suspect two presenters gives a lot more flexibility in actual shooting.

Lisa A.

WONDERFUL! But, over much to quickly! 😭😍

Pamela Brotherton

This is fabulous! Can't wait to see more. Natalie and Gus are wonderful!

Konstantin

After a first dig that I didn’t know what to make of, because it was so… different, I’m really starting to dig Guses narrating. Way to go, Gus!

Jude Edling

I really think each part should be an hour long. Yes, I'm greedy. I want more Time Team. Cornwall was marvelous and this is spectacular! Classic Time Team with the expertise of wonderful, engaged people. Can't wait for more!! Thank you.

Nathan Lyons

I agree. 90 minutes split into 3 parts is a good start but they no longer have the TV network boat anchor around their ankles. They should just shoot everything and edit to tell the whole story no matter how long it takes.

Trish Murphy

Everyone loves grand or precious finds but I think it’s a better story when it’s less straightforward. I’d hate it if Time Team came back after all these years & selected only easy digs. This dig is revealing more of the speculation and conversations I loved in the original Time Team shows. Now throw in a round table pub discussion, mulling over the day’s finds & deciding tomorrow’s direction & I’ll be very happy. Those were the early Time Team seasons

Trish Murphy

I love seeing Matt bringing everyone back to tangible archeology. I’m so happy he’s here on these 1st 2 digs. It would be wonderful for Matt to watch some more junior archeologist dress up in a Roman toga✌️💚

camakarma

Just got to watch it. Loved watching all the good humor and happy interactions. I am so excited to see the next shows. Thanks to everyone for all your hard work with these series!

widget brittle

I just wanted to say what a wonderful job has been done with the new Time Team episodes. It's hard to refresh such a beloved show, even by those who love it most, but you've done it so well. Gus and Natalie do an excellent job, variously capturing Tony's enthusiasm and humour, but entirely in their own way and bringing so much themselves. I really enjoyed Derek and Lawrence's additions while the digs were happening and their added expertise to the wonderful cast of experts old and now has been delightful. It goes without saying, I hope, that it's delightful to see so many of the faces from before too. You've done such a brilliant job and I am so very grateful that there is more of this wonderful series.

Fern Wilcox

I couldn't say it any better than widget brittle! Wow, oh wow, what a wonderful day 1! More please. So much more please. Watching these episodes always leaves me impatiently waiting for the next one, and the one after that...Thank you so much EVERYONE! Cheers from near St. Paul, Minnesota

Alan Pryke

Well, I thought the first dig was brilliant but this supersedes it. The structure is a lot tighter, the explanation for where the trenches are placed a lot better and a site director in charge saying where and when they can dig. It's going to be a fun weekend

Emma chamberlain

I love this! I just wish you wouldn’t show john and jimmys geophysics straight off the bat in the starting credits as it was always so lovely to anticipate the reveal and the finding out with the team. But i love what you have done and can’t wait to watch ep 2 and 3!

Richard Lowe-Jackson

Was really impressed with this episode. The Cornish episode, felt it lacked the structure of a Time Team episode and had more of a documentary feel, rather than the fly on the wall style. This episode however feels more like an updated version of the original Time Team with discussion and debate. Congratulations it feels like Time Team is now really back.

Mike Hipp

It's difficult to express how much these new Time Team digs mean to me. You all are doing a wonderful job. I have seen every episode of the original series many times, as they are my daily treadmill entertainment. Seeing Carenza, Matt, Helen, John, and the rest of the team back together is such a special treat. Thank you for the programs, thank you for doing this again.

Mike Lowndes

My Oculus Quest is waiting for some content!

Mike Lowndes

Anyone who wants to see a Villa like this should come to East End near Oxford. They are cleaning the mosaic on APRIL 19th and there is an open day.
