It's time for our next Site Walkabout. Yesterday, Stewart was looking a little anxious, but today he's all smiles, which must mean he's pleased with the progress.

On today's rounds, we also catch up with Carenza Lewis, who has been busy test-pitting across the site with the local community.

wow, first to comment for a change. lol. loving these walkabouts. ;-)

I'm a great admirer of landscape archaeologists. The fact that they can tell if a landscape might contain useful archeology just by looking at the landscape structure, and maybe with a little help from old maps, is incredibly fascinating! So I'm really relieved and happy for Stewart. Thank you for this update. Can't wait for the next ones.

Steve Mikre

I enjoyed ever minute of this site walkabout and listening to all the experts, but I was also intrigued to see the closed test pit filled in and how it looked practically like nothing ever happened at that spot...

Matthew Rice

A pub scene in the new series! Brilliant!

Ann H

Documents! Go Helen.

Priscilla Reeve

Fantastic! Love these Site Walkabouts. So much to be learnt about the whole site and the organisation going on behind the scenes..

Mike Darby

All good, but Henry's chat was brilliant, how often do we get to join the conversation about how the landscape has been changed by glaciation and maybe - or not - been used and /or changed by human intervention. AND I had forgotten, until now that this is a pristine site with NO prior investigation, so no help there then. Another 1st for Time Team. Well done to all...

Elizabeth Nickless

Very tantalising. Can't wait to see the final episode.

Anne Collinson

Oh my. How are we going to wait until spring

TimeTeamOfficial

Thankfully, we've got lots of very exciting pieces in the pipelines to tide you over until the completed episodes come out, including more insights from these digs and some rather special extra treats...

Winfield E. Johnson

Helen AND Carenza in the same dig! Hilde watch these two grand, elegant Ladies of Archaelogy. They'll teach you how it's done!

Graham Dombkins

Loved this walkabout. Can’t wait to see this whole dig. Sounds like this whole dig has a bit of everything going which I love as everyone has their moment in the spotlight and a really interesting story is told.

Tom Gooden

Very enjoyable. Keep up the good work !

Richard Linley

Whenever Stewart opens his mouth, I'm reminded of my late Yorkshireman father. And it's SO good to hear Carenza say "there" again.

David Boon

Each walkabout gets better. Can’t wait for the next one.

McBrucie

Thanks Guys!

Kim Garza

I was so happy to hear Carenza talking about the transferable skills students are gaining in the test pits.

David de Groot

I'm sitting here in Australia on a drizzly Sunday morning and it's drizzly on this dig watch too, really adding to the immersion. :)

Patricia Amero

So interesting and I'm smiling in a nerdy kind of way. I'm enjoying every single minute of every vlog... thank you all so much. 😎👍

David Long

Glad there are others who feel the way I feel--spring?? That seems an age away.

Eggs Ackley

I looked up Mad Jack Mytton…quite the rascal! Interested to hear how he fits in.🤔

JUDITH COOKE

If Stewart’s happy with the way things are proceeding, then so am I ☺️

Matt Cummins

Yeah that was brilliant, never seen that detail before, it's excellent.

Stephen Walls

It'll be interesting to find out more about Mad Jack.

Trevor Rix

The technique of camouflaging comments that can't be revealed yet is much better than the awkardness of people trying not to mention anything sensitive, so thank you for that! They make great teasers for what is to come too.

Rob Scoulding

it's a little frustrating that certain things can't be revealed during these walkabouts. I don't quite understand the need for such secrecy. It's a little like wwatching a live football match and having the goals blanked out.

Jude Edling

Each walkabout is better than the previous! Tantalizing glimpses, lovely chats and this time, cake chases. Enjoy your pub confab, well earned.

Eelco Kruidenier

Very interesting walkabout. This is what I want to see more of. And maybe an insight in how various techniques used are working.

Diane Johnston

Matt - 'it's an everyday thing for me - just recording a Monk in field'

Norine Nagle

This episode made me happy. There was so much going on, many positive faces, and lovely animal noises when people revealed information that will make the full episode exciting and nuanced. Hurray for all of the people who voted for this site.

Charlotte Edmonds

Completely agree - my face was started to ache from smiling so hard all the way through it!

Simon Orchard

It's not a proper TT without an end of day pint at a pub

W Pierce

Love Helen's parting shot -- "I've gotta have a beer if I can't have tea!"

Donna Oglesby

Great to see Stewart, and so happy for him that this site is finally delivering for him what he thought the digs would have left in them, in order to further understand them. I personally never heard of them, so anything new will enlighten me with wanting to know more about this group. Was good to see Matt again as well as Helen. Both always very interesting to listen to at what they find.

Robert Wise

Still amazed by the trees, but I did notice the two monks impersonating Derek and Lawrence!

Justin Freeman

Mad Jack, eh? My wife and I held our wedding reception at the Mytton and Mermaid just down the road!

Thomas Murray

Great to see Stewart! Such an asset to Time Team. Is John around?

TimeTeamOfficial

John was most certainly around! See more of him in the Day 3 Walkabout...
