Dani is a superb host. Her enthusiasm and energy are infectious!

Don Gibson

The sheer joy watching this.

Doug Mackey

Brilliant. Danny is a joyous host.

Onnie Duvall

This was great! I can’t wait for the actual program as well as for the other Dig Watch episodes.

Matthew Wasbrough

Loving Lawrence’s T-shirt choice of the stripes.

Stuart Barry

Loving the Dig Watch. As it’s Time Team's 30th Birthday, will we be seeing Phil and/or Tony in the programme? It’s hard to imagine Time Team without them.

Mark & Jill Jefson

That was excellent! Makes me want to go out and dig up my backyard. Well, not really. I think there is an old septic crib that is best left covered.

Cheryl Kurucz

Oh how I wish I were there!!! Brilliant first day everybody!👏👏👏😘

Julianne Ture

I paused to remember Mick, Victor, and other Time Team originals who are no longer with us. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

James D Speckart

I'm as excited as Jackie, I think. I hope today has gone even better!

Rick Doner

30 years!!!!!!!!!!! I hadn't realized it was that close to the anniversary. Wow.

dominique northeast

Happy, Happy Birthday Time Team. Here's to the next 30 years.

Kate

This is going to be fabulous! Also, love Lawrence's Mick Tribute T-Shirt. TT should merchandise those with a TT embroidered logo. Bet they'd sell! I'd buy one!

Neil Ford

Super entertainment ... worth every penny of my Patreon support

Robert Boudreau

Dani is such a natural. Her enthusiasm and smile warms the heart. Wonderful to see Miles and Jackie again, really looking forward to more.

JUDITH COOKE

Oh, that was just sensational and lovely. Great to catch up and see everyone doing extraordinary things. A fantastic site to celebrate Time Team’s 30th anniversary. Thank you all so much for doing what you do so well.

Martin Packer

Superb rainbow Time Team tees in evidence. Will have to see if there are any for sale.

Ceryswyn

Looks like a marvelous day, and what glorious weather! Here's hoping the second day is just as beautiful.

Paul Faulkner

You mentioned the name of one of the local Dorset tribes at the time the Romans came. Do we know any of the tribal history before the Romans arrived? Presumably it was the Romans who started writing down the names of the tribes? And did the tribes just sort-of fizzle-out and turn into Celts or Saxons once the Roman left (or integrated/fizzled-out)?

Matthew Adams

That was a terrific DigWatch. Dani, Derek, and Lawrence have developed into the perfect Time Team hosts - enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and totally natural communicators.

Charlotte Edmonds

Very well worth the wait! This was brilliant, and what a beautiful ending shot.

Angela Anderson

Congrats on 30 years!! Loved having Dani as host and really look forward to see how this site fits in with the wider landscape.... especially the Devon Ridgeway.

Philip Stack

A very good Dig Watch production. Well done to everyone involved.

Leah Kotok

This was an excellent Dig Watch and it looks like it's going to be an even more excellent dig! Can't wait to see the full episodes! Also, more Naomi and Dani dressed up in bedsheets, please! LOL ;)

Garry Matthews

Great one love the interaction great to see how it all come together

John Walker

Is Lawrence channeling Mick with that T-shirt? How about some merch based on Mick’s jumpers? Maybe a T-shirt option with a cartoon Mick’s face on it? I’d buy it.

PHILIP MAY

Interesting views on the transition into the Roman Briton from the Iron age . Conquest or not ? . Certainly the Romans / European's were trading with some of these Iron age tribes along the south coast for an extended period of time BC / AD ,and being welcomed, as already mentioned... . TT can you unravel the history for us please . Excellent start thank you

Linda

Congratulations on 30 years. Beautiful site and it sounds like you have some wonderful stories to unravel. In amongst the periods you are discovering is there any Saxon showing? That would make it pretty complete wouldn't it.

Anne Collinson

This was great. Well done Dani, Derek and Lawrence. Really looking forward to the the next one.

Jon Colcord

30 years?!? Did I really binge watch 20+ years of Time Team during Covid? Yikes! Happy Anniversary! LOVING Dig Watch, and especially today as I finally figured out how to send the video from my phone to my big TV!!! Try it!

fairbad

Congrats on thirty years. Cant get enough of Time Team. Keep it going.

Doug Lucey

I found it hard to concentrate, with the magnificent view of Corfe Castle to gaze at in the background! That hill the castle is set upon is extraordinary. It looks like a giant constructed motte, but it's apparently a natural feature.

W Pierce

Wonderful! Great job Dani & team!!

Danny Skarka

Every TT episode should have at least one rainbow shirt. You know why!

Cindy Masek

I too binge watched 20 years in about 4 months! Lol!

Robert Wise

Dani & Naomi with lightning! Awesome!

Cindy Masek

This was wonderful! What an incredible view! I can't imagine working in that setting. BTW Dani, I love the shirt! Perfectly matched plaids and a diagonal placket, something only someone who sews might appreciate! Lol! But really, what a great first watch: leaves you really wanting to know more.

Mel Blunt

Home ground for me. I can easily imagine which fields it is in. Perfect weather, perfect scenery and a team that really has got it together. Fantastic stuff.

Leanne

Thank you. Looking forward to learning all that the folks were alluding to!

Maureen Hutchings

I do wish time team was back on television as well via patreon.

DIANA R NELSON

Very cool video. Love seeing the behind the scenes stuff and Dani is a great presenter.

Robert Hasler

This episode is great, but it did not sync voice to video. How can I change that?

Michael Sperry

This was amazing! I can hardly wait for the episodes to air!

Leah

Love the Dig Watch video!!! 🤩

Gretchen M Root

I love Lawrences shout out to Mick with his multicolored shirt. Kinda of Lawrence and the Amazing Technicolor Shirt!!

Patricia Amero

👋 Fan-tastic! I'm waving back at you all from Canada. I enjoyed every second of day one! If you wondered what Time Team was all about... this video represents the heart & soul of the operation. Isn't it great? 🥰x

George McCluskey

Seems as though the research was done well, and there will be something to really see on this dig. Great news!

Chris Bate

Love that & the drone shot of the aniversary cake... Amazin' guyz... Have a great shoot....

Janet Sutton

So great to see everyone! Love the shirt, Lawrence!

Elizabeth Neill

Pure entertainment: significant birthday, fancy tents with bunting, no less, and mud dancing -- you just couldn't ask for more.

Brent Bossom

That was excellent! I don’t know how you pulled something like this together in such a short time but it had me engrossed from the opening shots. Great job, Dani!

Mika

Actually very clever to put test pits in where the geophys does *not* find anything, as explained. But I wonder what John said about that decision :D

Jayne Copping

Congratulations on your 30th birthday! Watching time team over the years awoke in me a passion for archeology and local history that has allowed me to learn and understand the places that I have lived, giving me insights into them that I would otherwise never have even thought about.

Di

Seeing Lawrence in such a colorful shirt reminded me of Mick & his sweaters. Then they show Mick! Great Dig watch Dani.

Scorpionwoman

The striped shirt is cute, but please tell me we'll be able to purchase that shirt Gus has on!

Gary Hepburn

Thanks for putting this up, great to see you doing something in Dorset again. Sorry about the weather today!

Mattie Griffiths

Loving Helen's mud dancing! Excellent dig watch team and Dani!

Elaine Molenaar

what an amazing and at the same time teasing Dig Watch! I can't wait to actually hear and see what you guys found! Oh how I wish i could join one of your digs I would totally come to the UK in the mud and the rain to just take part in revealing the secrets that lie in the ground for us to understand and learn more about our past <3

Peter Gore

Surely Lawrence's shirt should be a Time Team 30th Anniversary 'Mick Special' issue...

Marjorie Gillet

Marvelous! As commented above, this is the best dig watch so far. The photography, behind the scenes moments, and interviews are excellent. I can't wait to see more!

Noreah Smith

Thanks for the shout out as new patreon and thanks for my first digwatch

Paul Sandom

This was great, and yes, thanks for the shout out to new Patreons. Wondering why I didn't support sooner. Always loved the show and am loving what you are doing now. P.S. how do I get to come dig test pits, will do it for beer.

Loz

Yes, I’m really hoping that the rainbow logo t-shirts become available on the Time Team shop - it’s a really gorgeous design!

Susie Martin

Nice to see Miles Russell! I did planning and drawing with Jane!!

Fushigi

I'll be frank. If Gus was more like he was in this video and less like he's trying to be David Attenborough, it would be great. I do very much like how he presents now, but I think the greater energy and humor (and more relaxed nature!) he showed here is better.

Dyana Mason

Was the striped T-shirt in honor of Mick?

Mark Lund

Purbeck, one of my favourite places to camp, walk, paddle, (kayak, board), eat & drink. Looks like a great excavation too.

Halo Pendragon

I asked about the rainbow Time Team logo shirts before, but may I second or third the request for these in the shop!

Eelco Kruidenier

Emily Boulting:"It's all good... There's no yawning black hole..." What a fantastic visualisation. I am looking forward to see the broadcast of this dig.

JFF

I spent my early years in Poole and playing rolypoly at Corfe Castle happy childhood memories …… looking forward to seeing what eventuates

Steve Duckworth

How great is it to be celebrating TT’s 30th birthday with a TT episode.

Connie L Merchant

An enjoyable whistle stop tour, Dani. Nicely done. Congratulations to Time Team on the 30th anniversary.

Patricia Amero

Shout out to the brilliance of the shot of Stewart's 'world', walking & filming with a camera on a pole.🌍

Nicholas & Elizabeth Dyer

Catching up with dig watch, a brilliant episode. Congratulations on 30 years. Living in the Blackdown Hills, we regularly drive past the cafe on the A30, where it all started.

Don Cook

Great location; beautiful people, and archaeology... what could be better?

Wendy

This is so good!
