Brilliant, lovely to have Sir T back, ended with a lump in my throat. A great tribute to the men and the special relationship between our countries forged in blood, sweat and tears … we will remember them!

Bob Pockney

Superb. 100 minutes, non-stop, of Time Team at its best.

Julianne Ture

It felt like Sir Tony picked up where he left off. Such a pleasure to see him and the other Time Team stalwarts again.

Ivan Clowsley

That was superb so good to be involved with that dig and adding to the story of The Band of Brothers.

Jon Colcord

So great to have Tony back! This one meant a lot to me. I was a member of the 101st Airborne Division from 1985 to 1987.

Colin

Binged on Time Team several years ago. Glad to see it is back. Welcome Back Sir Tony!!

Jill Desruisseau

Amazing job everyone. Loved seeing all the veterans doing well with something that gives them purpose and peace. Glad to see all the old gang looking so well.

Julianne Ture

Thank you for your service, sir!

Patricia Amero

Even with the Patreon previews, I watched with a huge lump in my throat. Although I'm from a large (Canadian) RCAF family, this one was a bit personal for me. Thank you. 🙏 Also, Tony... welcome home.🥰

Michael O'Connor

Excellent job, team. I echo the plaudits for Tony's return. While it's good to have new folks, HE is the voice of TT. I could track how he was getting backc into the groove throughout the show. By the end, he was in full form. My only complaint is that his narration sounded like it was recorded in a closet. I hope that future specials can get him into a proper studio or somewhere that can bring back the quality of the older episodes. It was really noticeable. That said, I'm very pleased with this speacial.

I have loved being a member of the Time Team for the last year! While these guys flew into France my Grandpa was heading in from the other end in Patton’s army. He was sent home after being hit by a bomb. All the way to his death he had someone over to get a piece of shrapnel that had worked its way out. Decades later. Amazing.

DeAnn Kauffman

This was a very well done episode. I enjoyed learning the history as well as the archaeology.

kevin vermeulen

Excellent work TT! So interesting to hear from the gentlemen who remember the guys and great to see some of US military folks working along side at this dig site. I'm not knocking the new hosts, but it was good to see Tony. TT like archeology have a nostalgia about them.

Kerry Hennigan

Loved watching it this morning Oz time. 👏👏👏

Diana Schooling

Loved this! My grandma's fav brother was in Hell's Angels. I'd love to see a documentary on them, by Time Team.

Nola Smith

So lovely to see Tony back playing his usual role. Yes! It’s still HIS role despite all the years since the curtain last came down.

Nola Smith

I’ve especially appreciated seeing the regulars in this show…it made me go look in the mirror…we are all getting on a bit! Lovely to enjoy now and to leave their teachings for those who come after us. I hope my grandkids kids will enjoy the whole Time Team experience as much as I have over the years. Love to the whole cast from Australia.

Colin

As I stated earlier, it is great to see Sir Tony back, but I do hope Dr Gus gets to stay around as well.

Douglas Stephenson

Someday I hope to visit the UK and am adding this location to my list. Found TT on youtube and never looked back. Thank you Time Team for rekindling my love of archeology and anthropology.

Fushigi

Finally had a moment to watch. Great episode! Many thanks and regards, TT and Tony!

Michael O'Connor

Tony is only doing specials so no worries there.

David Cadogan-Cowper

Great episode. Watched it in the instalments when it was first aired in May via Patreon and have just had another look at it. As someone who is fascinated by military archaeology, regardless of era, this was a fascinating look into the lives of the 506th PIR, made all the better by the excerpts from "Aldbourne Awakens" by David Kenyon Webster. Thanks TT (and Sir Tony) for all the work you do. Kudos to Richard Osgood too.

Doug Mackey

Yeah. A little more care taken for VO quality. Did it in Matt’s van, it seems!

Cheryl Kurucz

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Jakub Jůzl

Very happy with the episode overall. Some of my minor nitpicks would be the sound differences - Sir Tony's voice is very different in the field and in post production and I found the transition between them a bit jarring. Some of the animations could be more fluid even though I'm not sure whether that is a YouTube problem or not. Finally and this will be controversial and just a personal opinion - I would prefer the episode to be a little shorter, 60 minutes would be the sweet spot for me. Curious to hear what others think!

Don Cook

Superb episode! 80+ years ago is lost on people born after the war (unless You were in a military, or veteran's family; then WWII was still talked about at length). This is not a new, or out-of-the-ordinary phenomenon; it's human existence. Wonderful archeology, brilliantly presented.

David J. McGlone

Wow, that episode brought a tear to my eye at the end, "Well Done Time Team", very well done indeed! Being honest here, i am not usually a fan of recent history in Archaeology, I'm more into Neolithic, Bronze-age and Iron Age. But that was special, as i recognise in my own family tree history, my family's (ancestors) connections during world war 1 and 2, seeing some of their death certificates in Flanders etc. A poignant episode.

Robert Patterson

I have already watched it twice. I thank you for telling a great story. In addition to learning things, it made me proud to be an American. You told a great story and made everyone look good. I glad to see Sir Tony back; he keeps the show moving with a few chuckles and yet teaches us so much. I am a new fan of Time Team, and it just gets better. You're setting a standard that will be hard to beat. Keep it up.

Deb

You outdid yourselves with this episode. Thank you11

Is David Kenyon Webster’s Aldbourne manuscript going to be published? I have a couple of his books and would be keen to have this one too. He was a very good writer. I am a freelance copy editor, if that helps!

gtsuttons

The location of publication was shown during the closing credits.
