Congratulations to Carenza Lewis. From a long time fan of Time Team. You were so terrific on the show. Thank you for your time in sharing your work with us.

Congratulations Carenza! How wonderful that your work has been and is making a big difference in people’s lives! Your award is well deserved!

Thank you, Time Team brownies, for posting the extended interview. I so enjoyed hearing Carenza talk about the effect that test-pitting projects has on teenagers and the retired. It confirms my feeling that this is a tremendously valuable service to the larger community as well as history and archaeology.

Steve

Hi Carenza, do you ever think back to the beginning of your Time Team experience and see how much you've achieved? 👍

Roger Mills

That remark about 14 year olds was so profoundly insightful.

Alison Brown

Congratulations Carenza! This work is so important on many levels, but most especially in terms of how our relationship to time impacts our sense of place, belonging, and self-continuity. Well done!

Peter Carter

Congratulations Carenza. This award is much deserved, thank you for all the effort that you have put in over the years.

Brilliant work Carenza!!! Congratulations and thank you for all of your wonderful work in equal participation among those of us who have no background in archaeology! I really appreciate all you’ve done. I was on a time team live chat and asked a question because I didn’t understand somethings that were being said. There was one person who was so rude to me and told me to go away and that I wasn’t wanted there and I didn’t belong. And he kept bombarding me with rudeness. But my response at first was no that’s not what time teen stands for! You don’t have to be a professional to love archaeology. I didn’t respond to him after that and everybody else was very nice to me and told me to ignore the troll!!!! If I had not known what time team stood for I would have not been involved with time team after that moment because it did hurt being attacked like that. But I love archaeology I have since I was a child. So God bless you and thank you so much for your work. Much love from Washington state❤️❤️🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi Cheryl, we're very sorry to hear of that experience in one of the live chats. Needless to say, it's supposed to be a space where we can all get together and enjoy the show in good nature. We welcome healthy debate and aim to let conversation flow freely, but we don't tolerate disrespectful or abusive behaviour. It's always a shame when one or two spoil it for others. On occasion, we will remove someone from the chat if necessary - but apologies that we missed it on this occasion. You can report inappropriate comments directly through YouTube, or flag it with us to look into further. Thanks again for being part of Time Team!

Thanks so much for responding back to me so kindly! This person was definitely being a bully. But he finally quit trying to harass me when I wouldn’t respond to him and nobody else would respond to him either. I guess it’s no fun when nobody wants to be a bully with you. I love my TT community and wouldn’t give it up for the world. I will record it next time and defer to your judgment as to whether that person should be removed or not. If they had kept trying to harass me I would’ve definitely report him. Thank you for your concern, care and your information at what I should do the next time that may happen. God willing it won’t. My rule is not to engage in bulling and it seems to work. Sending you much love and good wishes always. Cheryl you’re happy and loyal patron❤️

CONGRATULATIONS CARENZA!!! Tis about time…..those of us who’ve followed ur career know tis LONG OVERDUE!! Kinda like the sayin “your reputation preceded you.” One thing I feel tis often not recognized is what the world in general & archeological world in particular was when her career began; it was MAN’S world. I member reading comments on the og TT that she was, at times, pushy & overbearing, which infuriated me. From the get go she was fightin an uphill battle. She bloody well had to or her brilliant career would have been cut short. She was & still iz a consummate professional. I also love her love for our future, shown by her ongoing commitment to involving our youth in their past as they begin to plan their, and our, future. Carenza thank you for your lifetime of service to our community…..not just the TT community

Congratulations, Professor Lewis! I’m excited to see your talk early next year (I have a ticket and will be watching from the US.

The online programs Professor Carenza Lewis ran during Covid played an important role in my sanity... as a single woman in a remote northern community in Canada. HUGE respect 🙏 Congratulations!

Carenza has been one of my favorite people on TimeTeam. She certainly deserves the recognition. Congratulations.

Congratulations to Carenza. By the way can your IT guys put a compass in the scenes so we know what heading finds are running.

So glad you’re back, all of you. I am planning to come to England next April. Will be anything going on with Time Team at that time. The only things I can did up in my garden in Texas is weeds and rocks.
