Music is healing to the soul, and shermshrooms want nothing more than to heal and connect the souls of all they encounter. The simple tones of these pacifist mushroom minstrels open gates into even the most cynical hearts.

Jaunty Journey. Any hyphan from the colony of the shermshrooms can recount their legendary creation—through song, of course. Like every other hyphan colony, they valued survival and expansion of their domain above all else, but everything changed when the legendary Smiling Bard enlightened them with the Song of Awakening. The bright notes opened their fungal minds to the joys of music and healing. With its horizons expanded, the heart of the colony sent its shermshrooms out into the world to share their happy songs. 

Medicinal Mushrooms. Far from the toxic and controlling spores of other fungal species, shermshrooms have adapted their physiology to help and heal their allies. Their beneficial spore clouds respond to tonal patterns, allowing shermshrooms to control them with music. Shermshroom mycelium can “infect” common organic compounds to turn them into healing salves, which the little fungi store and use to treat the wounds of any friends they meet along their way. These boons, along with their pleasant music, make shermshrooms a welcome novelty in any town they pass through, and they rarely struggle to find food or lodging.
