Zzt. Clank. Whirr.

Insight Function: [ACTIVE]

In the old folk tale, Lady Isabel and the Elf-Knight, charms and magic are mentioned as both the way that the princess is fooled into following the eponymous knight and is able to free herself from their guiles.

[SPOILERS AHEAD]

Both of us wanted to adapt the tale faithfully, all the while reinventing it in a more modern way. This posed the question: how do you portray the loss of control without it crossing a line?

I didn't want to land us in any hot water, especially with the tumultuous times on this platform; the ancient Elven Magicks that we decided to portray in our comic, at their least subtle through the wispy, amber glow in both Eormenhild and Wynnflaed's eyes, was the answer.

These magicks as we call them, are meant to intensify the charmed's emotions. So, as Wynnflaed becomes aroused, her mind is lost to the horny brain: simple, really hah.

Elves would often use these charms to cause Humans to break ceasefires, to turn on each other, to submit to the woodland folk and like in the case of Eormenhild, expedite the process of falling in love.

How much of these charms truly take over Wynnflaed or how desperate she had become for love and sexual pleasure is also left ambiguous on purpose.

The next few pages however, are pretty clear...
