Technomancy is a strange mix of Chaos magick, invasive software hacking, and hardware manipulation. Hackers and netraiders may use the last two techniques, but it's in reaching beyond into the organic realm that describes a Human being, and exploiting it, that a technomancer is born.

Our version of Chaos magick in the world of Fuck, Reboot, Kill (where Androids Who Dream is set in), is based on belief and willpower turning into sheer magical manipulation.

We are also inspired by The Weave, in the world of Forgotten Realms. It describes the "magical essence" of the universe as a sort of tapestry--a weave which spellcasters can pluck at strings, manipulating reality and casting their spells.

The combination of belief and manipulation are at the heart of the -mancy aspect of technomancy. Technomancers wield their technical expertise and cybernetic augmentations with boisterous enthusiasm; and as they channel their ambition and devotion into their work, their mind and soul become an extension of their tools.

The panel on the bottom left demonstrates how technomancy can move analog key mechanisms because they are technically hardware.

The panel on the bottom right however, shows how Stytch can enhance her android cock-sucking skills with technomancy: she applies pressure and other physical sensations, in a way that a relations between two Humans or even a technomancer and a Human wouldn't be able to enjoy.

Cybernetic augmentations are used by Hackers and Netraiders; ways to enhance their own software and hardware manipulations. It's not too dissimilar from famous interpretations like hacking/netrunning in Cyberpunk 2077, Shadowrun or even the tech powers in the Mass Effect series. While these enhancements are common in the world of Fuck, Reboot, Kill, technomancers are not able to manipulate Humans with none of these cyber-features. Androids on the other hand, are very susceptible to technomancers.

If you have any questions about technomancy, technomancers or even androids, be sure to drop a comment in this post.

The next Worldbuilding insight for AWD/FRK is going to be on androids. :3

Despite my complete inability to understand these things unless I read them like four times, god I love world building
