Thu-thump. Thu-thump! Fhiiizzzz...

Greetings from the Reincarnatum, everyone!

Less fun news today, but news all the same.

Po-ar has decided to end our collaboration, Beastly Portents, for personal reasons.

Yesterday on our Livestream, a subscriber of Po-ar's even mentioned the cancellation before this post, which caught me off-guard since we had yet to make the post. I was like, is this our first leak? Score!

Po-ar mentioned said cancellation in a post, back on the 24th of April, so if you were subscribed to him as well, you probably heard it there first, heh.

We know everyone was very enamoured with the premise and style of Beastly Portents, and so were we, unsurprisingly haha. It's a shame that things ended the way they did, but such is the nature of collaborations like these, sometimes, things just don't work out.

The early days of Beastly Portents saw us hone in on a protagonist, Lydia, and a sense for atmosphere and feel. We wanted a hot, overpowering story that still found empowerment overtones, as all Lust Incarnate Comics' joints do.

The cult would be a phenomenal way to add a parallel, ominous tone to the ritualistic sex, while being super fun to indulge in. Human on Human would eventually give way to Godly Beast on Human, which would be the climax of the comic.

Even the main "beast", the antagonist, Sebasios, went through several iterations, before we set on a "main" form that would evoke one of Gods shown in the first page.

We wanted a semblance of humour to be found in the comic as well, as I was perfectly aware that Po-ar appreciated levity within his works, and because I'm such an amazing collaborator (haha), I wanted to work with his preferences and strengths.

Po-ar was very enthusiastic to get it underway, even before we had a solid script--the layout above being an example of said enthusiasm: the story did not match the finished script but was a perfect sample of Po-ar's initial vision for Beastly Portents.

The first pious woman that would pleasure the Gods in her own way, would be Ikeseni, the Oracle. She is featured on the first page: submissive and diligent, while being conniving and secretive outside of her visions.

So yes, here are some good ol' information, insights, sketches and even the first comic page and its script form. It was a fun project, and although I have in the past few weeks dismissed Po-ar's encouragement to find another artist that could carry on with Beastly Portents...

...re-reading the script and seeing how much people loved the concept: I might start keeping an eye open for artists that would love a story like this--but I would 100% prefer to make it theirs and ours, rather than not.
