It's been nearly two weeks since we were at ThoughtBubble 2025! Time fucking flies, but the feeling of satisfaction, gratitude and ambition remain. There's plenty of takeaways for us from this event, and along with a few cute pictures... we thought it'd make for a nice post for y'all!
Perhaps you missed it, or maybe we haven't said it enough, but this was our first convention as Lust Incarnate Comics. I (Miguel) went to one con before as myself, back in the old school Buzzard days, but I had none of the white hairs nor the wisdom: cute kid fakin' it until he made it. Dee never attended cons either, so we were basically running on confidence, YouTube videos and tips, and over-preparation--yes, we still forgot things, because of course we did.
We wanted to cause an impression: regardless of how we believed the product(s) would speak for itself, we wanted our stall to reflect who we are as creators: folks that care about their art and how we present it. Getting a sick ass fuckin' banner was top on our list, and it came out beautiful. Add a couple of fake plants from my office, along with metal displays, and the Reincarnatum vibe: the strange, eldritch machine that houses us both and creates these erotic fantasies; was already shining through the exhibitor hall.
The first day alone was a testament to the kind of community we've nurtured and hoped for online: the enthusiasm was there in person as well, and it floored us. We even had Sami, who first drew fanart of RIXA and Stytch not only visit us, but gift us the fanart. Like, what? 😭
Our anxieties and worries slowly faded away, and by nightfall, sequestered in our hotel room, exhausted, any concern was gone: ThoughtBubble would be a success, an instrument of validation and a spark of ambition, all in one.
We sold out of a few stickers, earned followers a plenty and even had folks we admire buy our books. I had a couple of fanboy moments myself, but given that we peddle hot smut for a living, folks' proclivities should remain private hah. Folks told us that we were among their favourites of the con, if not the favourite, which made us all the more grateful to be on people's minds and hearts.
However, one of our personal highlights was undoubtedly the art trades. We met so many incredible folks, either that we already admired or met for the first time. There was no mistaking the sheer amount of talent that surrounded us; we will definitely be spending more time buy all that we loved next time.
You read that right: next time. We will be trying our best to attend ThoughtBubble again next year, and possibly, even more cons in the UK. Or who knows... beyond.
If you read this far though, here's a little extra paragraph: none, and I mean, none of this would've been possible without all of you. Lurkers, Patrons across all tiers, folks that buy digital stuff, that buy physical stuff. Folks that comment, that like, that share our content online. Folks that tell their friends or even strangers about our content. Those of you that frequent our degenerate Discord. All of you made this possible.
There's not a single inch of us that isn't grateful for your love and support; from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Here's to the future of Lust Incarnate Comics!
