Tssshhh. Clink! Zzztttt.

Insight Function: [ACTIVE]

Here's our first insightful look at the protagonist in With Eyes of Glass, Anne Locke. Box and I wanted to have a character that was unapologetically dishevelled, that just exuded this sort-of, tired, masculine aura while very much being unequivocally feminine.

We got to her design fairly quickly, especially after we homed in on the plot and atmosphere of the project: someone who is so insomnia-stricken that their grasp on reality and self is slowly shedding, and they very much do not give a shit about the public's perception of them.

Here's some of Box's first thoughts on getting to this design for Locke...

For the main character's look, I want to think about it a bit more, but in general I like the idea of someone barely holding it together, in a setting like this, if [they] have a suit and tie, the tie is loose and the shirt is unbuttoned at the top, the jacket isn't ironed, etc.

Think like your classic Elliot Gould in The Long Goodbye or indeed Mickey Rourke in Angel Heart.

And I want to give them some visual trait to make them more interesting, but I have to think on that one, it could be something simple like thick glasses because [they] can't see shit without them, or something more significant.

Box played around with a more cyberpunky version of Locke, along with a snapshot of her first picture while on the force: young, prim and proper, with a glimmer of hope still in her eyes. Fast-forward to "now", and Locke is far from hopeful--she is haunted.

This story will focus on the sensual side of horror, but it will be horror nonetheless, and I am so excited to have something like this in our portfolio: With Eyes of Glass is going to be such an incredible journey.
