Insight Function: [ACTIVE]

The drafting process of a collaborative comic can be quite insightful, fun and inspiring. Especially at Lust Incarnate Comics!

[SPOILERS AHEAD]

I utterly adore the first couple of pages we draft together. It's this special moment of turning concepts, ideas, moodboards and tones into... something real; which cements a tiny wisp like a new comic into so much more.

The Outlandish Knight was our third comic idea, before we settled down. It's not like the previous ideas were lesser than, but Wynnflaed and Eormenhild seemed to... speak to us more, at that moment. And, given their success and love, we couldn't be happier.

These insight posts are the perfect opportunity for me to add more to the behind-the-scenes; and for a creative team, to discuss their drafting process, it can be daunting, yes, but also fun and transparent.

In this particular page, the editing focused most on the balance between exposition, worldbuilding and romance: I wanted to offer some lore without being too much on the nose, but also allowing our readers to not have to go in blind, so to speak. As for the art, Duski and I wanted to show the beauty of these mythical woods, the courtship of both of our characters and the sense of wonder from Wynnflaed, never having gone this far from home.

She nailed it. Obviously.
