Zzt. Clank. Whirr.

Insight Function: [ACTIVE]

This opportunity to showcase a script page and finished comic side-by-side is a rare treat for us; one that I have been raving on about for days.

[SPOILERS AHEAD]

I thought it would be a pretty neat post to make: a panel breakdown of the initial script, and Duski's interpretation, along with our combined changes on the direction of the page.

Panel 1 & 2

In these two panels, I first set out to put Wynnflaed's naivety and Eormenhild's predatory guiles on full-display. It is also the first sign that the infatuation that the princess feels for the Elf-Knight might indeed be under an enchantment of some kind. However, how much of this spell corrupts the victim, and how much of it betrays the caster...?

Panel 3, 4, 5 (and 6)

This sequence was originally meant to be fairly abstract: nature would change around them, yet they would remain the same: could it be magical roots seeping deep within Wynnflaed's psyche or the true passage of time? Eventually, Duski's decision to show the couple and their newly-found life together, proved to be a lot more visually stimulating... and hinting at why the resolution of this story may not be as black and white as previously thought. Also noteworthy, are the season names written in the Anglo-Saxon old English, to add to the folk appeal.

Panel 6 (*7)

I first envisioned this embrace as a clothed, romantic display of affection--considering how that can be seen in a previous panel, it became the perfect opportunity to add our first bit of nudity... which is nothing compared to page 6. Trust me.

With that said, I hope you all enjoy our next few posts... ;-)

It's super cool to see the planning that goes into the pages :)
