if she stops chewing that gum they will revert back to normal, as would she, but how many of the gums she has before it leaves a permanant mark on her ????

That makes sense. As I am sure her skills as a reporter are definitely needed at the moment. So it kind of is a balancing act. If she keeps on chewing she will get more and more useless but if she stops altogether then eventually she will return to normal and be harder to control
