Hello dear Patron,

Exciting changes are coming!

You've been asking for a real solution to access and manage your files so we’re launching next month a new platform where you will be able to just do that!

What is this?

This new solution has been developed using a secure, approved and tested platform so you can access, download and manage your Heroes Infinite 3D files in the best way possible.

What does it mean for you?

We know that file management has been a big concern for some of you.

So we’ve been working on a better solution to give you access and store your files.

Plus we didn’t necessarily want to use something that was already available on the market (more details on why in an upcoming update).

Using that platform, everything will be stored in your account for easy access and management!

Our epic collections will still be available through Patreon. But once the platform is launched, you can decide whether you prefer to continue on Patreon or switch to our new platform (and benefit from new and better features).

What are the other benefits?

As we develop this platform, we will add new features and benefits.

The first two of them will be Loyalty Rewards and all the past releases will be made available in the next few months so you can access everything you paid for since you’ve been part of this Patreon.

What’s the plan?

The platform is currently in Beta testing for the next few weeks so that when we launch it, we can make sure to give you an awesome customer experience and 3D printing adventure!

Some of you will receive an invite to become a Beta Tester so please be sure to check your inbox! If you received a Beta Tester invite and would like to participate, just follow the instructions in the email and let’s get the party started!

We will let you know once the platform is ready to welcome you so keep your eyes peeled 🙂

Thank you for your support!

The Heroes Infinite Team

Darren

Sounds awesome looking forward to trying out your new system.

David Watts

Can’t wait for this. Especially the file hotfixes just being done and not something I have to worry about downloading when the file is fixed. Thank you for working on this solution for us. Question about it. I have purchased one of your sets from my mini factory as well as backed the Christmas wizards project on there. Will things like that also be available to us on our account with your new site?

George Crego

So my question is does the Patreon files get saved there also or just if you sign up to the new website?

Matt

Please just add MMF integration. "We" asked for a platform that our other Patreons use not something new that we have to go out of the way for. I'm curious as to what would set your "platform" apart from everything else.

Kythera of Anevern

MMF integration would be ideal, and follow the current standard in the community. But hey, I'll give it due consideration. I will also volunteer for testing the thing, as I have 10+ years of experience as a quality assurance tester. :]

Joey D

While I'm happy to see some actual news on this (finally!)... "Plus we didn’t necessarily want to use something that was already available on the market (more details on why in an upcoming update)." This bit here... really should be just stated at last, and is something you've kept saying every month (but still never said). All of this could have been dealt with MONTHS AGO had you just done what everyone else does, and use MMF. I can guess the answer though. It's down to money, right? MMF charge a fee undoubtedly... Really wish you'd be more transparent with it all rather than keep us all waiting...

Matt
>>64576447

I don't think it's money related, at the time of this reply they have ~3,600 Patrons, at a MINIMUM of $10 they make $36,000/month. I know I myself am at the Overlord tier which I think is $16. Though the quality shows this is not a "small" patron lol. What I see them trying to do is STOP Patreon and their "cut" and try and be like Loot Studios or some other company that wants to run everything theirselves and cut out the middle man. Also, like I and a lot of Patron's have said, we just want MMF integration. A simple poll will reveal as such.

Ed

+1 for "just add MMF integration". You even have all of the releases on MMF, which makes it all even more suspicious that you refuse to use it for Patreon reward delivery. I really don't think anybody here wants yet another site to subscribe to, especially since it sounds like you just want to move people away from Patreon and onto your own service. :/

Joey D
>>64576447

Exactly... it sounds like they do indeed want to cut out patreon/mmf and just sell things themselves... cutting out the middle man because... Money. They mentioned in a prior update something about how this big company isn't actually all that profitable atm. And I just don't see how honestly, given all the success they've had with KS and Patreon :\ Bonkers...

Michael Felske

This is just more: top secret top secret keep subscribing we will explain later top secret top secret, just to string people along another month

Dendail

MMF file storage please.

Christian Borggard
>>64576050

+1 to this, now that I’m discovering more & more artist it’s becoming a burden to keep this subscription due to it being the ONLY one not sending MMF redemptions. As for a individually hosted platform…I like to keep things as simple as possible when I have a backlog of 5k+ models…I REALLY like the models which is why I continue to do so, but I think everyone would just appreciate the simplicity.

Blake Moody

I have zero interest in swapping to yet another platform

whmchrish

Call me cautiously optimistic. I can certainly think of a few reasons why a bespoke solution is a good move for you, but from what little we know at this point, it’s objectively a worse move for your patreons/customers than just using MMF. Many of us have already invested in your back-catalogue there, and this just fragments our digital libraries. But at the end of the day, it is a 100 times better than not using any method of distribution at all, so I’m definitely interested to see and hear more.

Aubrey Ramage Lay

I have confidence in you guys, I am sure it’s going to be great!

Angela Basset

I’m looking forward to a way to access all my files, just in case I missed anything. Thank you for this

richard haensch

I too am looking forward to having a place to access my files if I need to. MMF would have been convenient, but anything will be better then the current arrangement.

MalkavianLogic

Speaking of loyalty rewards, where are we on the loyalty rewards we've been waiting for? Haven't seen or heard anything since the teaser picture of the hydra.

eyflfla
>>64574446

Yeah, I'm hoping I can get credit for the 5 releases I missed and bought on MMF.

eyflfla
>>64576447

Well, lets do some bullshit math. ~3600 Patreons *$10 is 36,000, lets boost it up to 40k/month. I have no idea what Patreons cut is, so I will just leave it out. Lets assume they have.. 20 employees altogether. I think I remember hearing that number in a previous state of the business adress. That's $2k/mo per employee. Plus computers, renting a building and who knows what other costs. I am not a business owner. I have no idea, and that's my point. MMF takes 10%. 10 percent doesn't seem like a lot when it's discount on your purchase, but it means a whole lot more when it's taken out of your paycheck. And don't forget, that's out of the gross.

eyflfla
>>64577802

Yeah, look how nice people respond to the little bit of information they do trickle out. They should really lay out their whole plan so everyone can scrutinize it.

Joey D
>>64576447

Oh aye, for sure it's not as simple as we might think... and that's the point. They keep saying "we'll explain more in a future update", and then another month goes by, and another update of "we'll have more news soon!" More transparency is needed to explain why they haven't just done what we all actually asked them to do, and give us the basic MMF like most other patreon's do, rather than trying to come up with some other solution that is clearly taking far longer than they anticipated (likely for various technical reasons) Also bare in mind that a damn big chunk of patrons upped to overlord (so $16, not just 10). I'd wager the total per month is closer to 50-55k. All of that is on top of their normal physical sales too. Creating their own website (with tech support for when it inevitably breaks too) ... that too costs money Finally... I would suspect the number of patrons itself would probably be higher had RH have a file solution already (like MMF...), rather than stringing us along every month. I want to stress that I have been a long time supporter of RH, and love their work. I don't hate them in any way, and I perfectly understand how things get in the way. But there comes a time when people have to stand up and call out the BS and say enough... time for some answers.

B. Griffith

Like others, I think it seems needlessly complicated instead of just using MMF like everyone else, but ANYTHING is an improvement over nothing, which is what we have as a backup now! So, yay! (You should know, though, swapping from Patreon would be more trouble than it's worth. I need all of my announcements and stuff in one place.)

Eurycleia

I’d love to see a system similar to the one used by loot studios. It’s super easy to go through the releases to find what you want.

DeathWolf

This patreon is getting better and better. Im patreon from the first month and here we will always continue. Congratulations on your work

Darren

People if it was your company, designers and product not to mention piracy wouldnt you do everything also?

Gavin Butstraen

I would very much prefer MMF integration. Anyway, another important question: will previous releases to which we subscribed via Patreon become available on this new platform? Or only future ones? And do you retain access to the old files after you stop your subscription (as is the case with Loot Studios and their platform)? Personally I think both are an absolute must.

Witchzwerg

I´m looking forward in a good thing and you find a way to make it like it´s a good handling of the STL´s...

Onychophora

So if I understand this correctly, once their new solution is launched I can switch to that, pay them there, and have access to the files after a month has ended. Or I can stay with them on Patreon, and have the same non-solution to file storage as currently. I'm not sure I have understood correctly, but if this is the case, I am seriously considering doing neither. I don't want a new platform, I want MMF integration.

Matt
>>64576447

And you think running an entire new platform will be cheaper than the 10% MMF takes?

B. Griffith
>>64583397

Designing and running your own personal competitor can’t be cheap. I wouldn’t be surprised to find it’s MORE expensive to host your own service.

Philobat

Long overdue. Wish you would adopt the standard platform that everyone else uses, but ok. When in doubt, just over-complicate the process lol

Joey D
>>64576447

RH clearly seems to think so. I on the other hand... suspect it probably wont be much difference at all, and will undoubtedly have a whole host of more unanticipated issues :\ I hope I'm wrong, and that it will actually be a fabulous site that's well worth the wait and stress... we shall see... eventually... maybe this side of 2022? :P

Dwayne Hinton

cgt, minihoarder, mmf, cults, dtrpg, loot studios, backerkit, and now a 8th place my files will reside for me to recover in case my harddrive fails.

Chad Challman
>>64576447

If a couple of the patreons I support that have sub 500 backers can have MMF integration and apparently not worry about fees, then RH sure should be able to handle it.

alex

So instead of using MMF, you're re-inventing the wheel for a proprietary platform?

eyflfla
>>64595439

Oh, I'm sure everyone would gladly give up 10% of their gross sales if it was their business and livelihood attached to this venture. Any businessperson worth their salt knows you should kowtow to the peanut gallery! /Sarcasm What if they had a special MMF Tier that cost $17.78 for Overlord and $11.11 for Leader? (90% of those numbers equals regular price) This is pure, snarky, speculation.

eyflfla
>>64583397

I wouldn't be surprised to find out there's MORE research behind their decision than behind your assertion. If you were playing an RPG would you accept a permanent 10% debuff (to any useful stat) or would you maybe pay more up front to eventually get a higher stat bonus?

Michael Felske
>>64609604

To understand correctly they are making mystery you dont know what you get vs mmf, vs what they use now.

Dustin Glass

Just got onto the platform, and while it isn't as convenient as going to the same place as my other patreons the website itself is well done as far as I can tell. Its easy enough to navigate, models are separated by packs and then further separated in each group by what type of model it is. There's also a mark to say a model is completed which is nice for organizing although unless I'm printing the entire set I think may be unnecessary.

Jacob Enda
>>64670472

Can you confirm if you can see all of the old months packs, or only the current one? There are a few months that I missed but if they're available there then that would be amazing.

Dustin Glass
>>64670472

So far its the current month, the welcome pack, and the 3 month loyalty reward. Nothing on the previous months yet, but I dont see why they wouldn't get added if loyalty rewards are also showing up.

Broc Reed

I'm clearly a minority in this, but I'm glad to see a step away from MMF. MMF is a great service, no question, but I get a little nervous when a single service becomes too much of a focal point. Sure, the convenience of a one stop shop is nice, but I'm not convinced it's worth the trade off. Still, I fully understand the desire for a centralized service and I don't see MMF going anywhere for awhile. Every creator has to do what makes sense for them and their particular business model.

Jeff Neely

I just want something that tells me when files are updated since I downloaded them last, like the way printablescenery.com does. And lets me optionally sing up for notifications when any files I own have been updated.

Michelle Oakes

Part of the beta and loving it!! For those that know Loot studios it's very similar and I am also glad it's separate from MMF.

Gavin Butstraen
>>64670472

It's also still in test phase. But it would be nice to get official confirmation we will indeed get access to the previous releases we subscribed to.

Corey Hagopian
>>64806319

what makes it good to be separate from MMF? Honestly just curious since they already sell their minis on that platform it seems like that would condense things and make them easier to get to.

Michelle Oakes
>>64806319

I should have probably said there is nothing wrong with MMF. When I found out that they were going to a platform like Loot, I was just really happy. I love the loot platform. When buying from MMF, they also charge me international fees. Not a huge deal, when I buy past loot models from their platform I don't get charged that fee, just the conversion amount. If you have not seen the Loot platform, you see a bit of that platform in this video. https://youtu.be/fBty5Tvn7OU?t=127

David Aleshire

YAY now i can have the best models in the world AND decent support as well???? AWESOME

eyflfla
>>64806319

As convenient as MMF is, I dislike the idea of there being one be all end all miniature market. Competition breeds creativity, or whatever the saying is.

Chance Crabtree

MMF seems like the easiest way to do it.

Hayden Robertson

Please just use MMF. I know for a fact one day I'm going to forget this separate platform exists and lose all the files.

Victoria Sanders
>>64600009

This right here!! I've been subscribed since October 2020, I can probably find maybe 1/2 of the months since then. As opposed to Great Grimore & Cast & Play where I can just go to MMF to pull them when I need them. Heck, even Loot Studios (which is a separate platform) I have ongoing access to every month I've been subscribed. I would like to have the same freedom with this one.

David Aleshire

PLEASE do MMF, there are a few other vendors that use their own website and its SUCH A PAIN to manage, when you say "you asked and we listened" and you do your own thing, that is not listening, people are not asking for an online backup, they are SPECIFICALLY asking for MMF as that is the BEST way to manage and maintain our models we have purchased.

Sara DeWitt
>>65028067

Especially since you guys already SELL models through MMF. This shouldn't be a huge transition. I have literally hundreds of files on MMF, I don't want another separate site to have to manage.

TreasureGoblins

+1 for MMF I have been asking for MMF for many months, all my other patreons are already there it's very easy having the invite simply show up in my email and already be attached for download when ready. I do not keep up with all the updates and posts while subscribing to 12+ creators (though I did recently downsize.. ). Great work from you, but more work from me to obtain and save.

Jonathan Barnes

so... it's next month - what is the ETA on this, and how much more time and money did it take to set this up over just using MMF? and for what benefits exactly?

Dug Hogarth

Yeah gotta say just using MMF would have been preferable, now we will just have one more place we need to go to get our files.

virtualmorrigan

Very disappointing that there still is no word on this. But it is sort of amusing to see how a very small number of users here constantly hype the new platform and bash MMF :)

TreasureGoblins

Well it happened.. complete drive failure and loss of everything I ever supported. You are still the only patreon I put up with that doesn't offer a permanent method to re-download previously purchased files. Sent a PM early this morning to attempt to recollect them. I really hope one day you fix this distribution headache and just give in to MMF.

TreasureGoblins
>>65562570

aaaand BOOM lost all my purchases from you on a failed drive and you are still refusing to use MMF a year later with no other option running.
