You are a lot smarter about Miller's hat than I was the first couple of times I saw this!

The name of the episode is another reference to Don Quixote, who would try to fight windmills because he delusionally thought they were giants. Avasarala notices that Holden's mother has the novel in her house; she says the author's name "Cervantes" as she touches the book. It's referenced again during the episode when Miller says "That you, Holden? You out tilting at windmills?" In other words, taking on unwinnable fights. Also, you were fairly dead-on with the symbolism of Miller's hat - he's casting off his prior life and embarking on a new life path.

Another connection to Don Quixote just occurred to me: "Donkey Balls". The Don's traveling companion, Sancho Panza, rode a donkey...it may be a bit of a stretch to identify this as yet another reference to the Cervantes novel, but if Panza's donkey was a male, then it definitely had balls! 😄
