"Yeah, it was a pond after all. ...It is a pond, right?"

When I observed it from behind the trees, I could see a body of water with a radius of several dozen meters.

If it were a puddle formed by rainwater flowing in, then no matter how large it was, there would usually be trees poking out from the surface, but I don't see any here, so it's probably a proper pond.

Which means this pond is also highly likely to be part of something's territory.

It's just... there are monsters that came to drink water, monsters sitting in the shadows of nearby rocks... there are a lot of them, but they don't look like they're fighting.

It's starting to calm down, but monsters' cries are still echoing from all over the place, and yet none of them seem shaken.

"............I'll chase it!"

I shot out of the forest all at once and cut straight across the pond.

Maybe the monsters were surprised at the sight of me, because they started raising threatening cries at me.

The forest had finally started to quiet down, but with that scream earlier and this now, it's starting to get noisy again... but even so, I can't ignore it.

Considering how tenacious it was to have fled all the way over here, and the way it noticed me and pulled something like that, I don't know what it'll do if I leave it alone.

There's distance between us, but I've finally managed to catch sight of it.

Once I finished crossing the pond, I accelerated 【Floating Orb】 even further into the depths of the forest where it had fled.

That thing is fleeing deeper and deeper in, moving from branch to branch while screaming.

Just like before, I left the wolves' corpses as they were and started chasing the monster again.
