"……Isn't Sera stopping by here today?"

After sending instructions to the servants in the room to prepare a bath, some time later, when work had reached a stopping point, Liesel at the neighboring desk called out to her.

As usual, documents were piled on the desk, but the urgent ones must've been taken care of.

"The squad members who'd been staying at the northern base have returned, but Sera is acting separately with Zighart, right? Is it okay if she doesn't report?"

"August brought the information summarizing the squad's report a little while ago, didn't he? If she's acting with Zighart, she'd leave it to him, and if she'd parted from him, there shouldn't be any particularly new report. Maybe August might bring something again later, but that girl isn't necessary."

"Is that how it is? I wanted to hear her opinion too, but…… if that's the case, it'd be better once the information is properly all in and we've gathered it here, huh?"

"Yes. I'll bring her here tomorrow, so you can talk to her then."

She'd gone and decided Sera's schedule for tomorrow on her own, but if there were something, she'd come to report first, and there shouldn't be any plans for tomorrow yet, so…… it shouldn't be a problem.

"That's true. Sorry, but once work's done, you talk to Sera so she doesn't end up making any plans."

"Yes. More importantly, what about Teresa's report?"

"By Teresa's report, you mean about the Merchant Guild side participating in training?"

Seriana nodded at Liesel's words.

During the day, after she'd finished training the adventurers and female soldiers outside, she came here to report, and in it, Seriana was told that there'd been an inquiry from the Merchant Guild about participating in training.

That itself was something she'd heard from Sera yesterday, and since there were benefits, it was decided it was fine, but……

"You heard it this morning, right? Klaus is still in the branch manager's seat, and if this goes well, he'll stay put for the time being, but……"

"Do you have a complaint? Is it because it's turned into a situation where Sera's being used?"

"That's something that girl will eventually collect, and it isn't something for me to butt in on. That's not it…… are you properly coordinating?"

"He basically avoids nighttime reports unless it's a pretty serious emergency. Regarding this matter, he probably judged that a morning report would be fine. I didn't have any objection to that judgment either."

Saying that, Liesel showed an envelope stamped with the Merchant Guild's crest.

He probably wants to say that the route is being properly maintained.

"There are capable people besides Klaus, but he's the one with the best track record among those who have trade routes dealing with other territories, including the royal capital area. I don't intend to give him special treatment, but after all, it's more convenient to have him stay for the time being."

"I see. Well…… I'm leaving the Merchant Guild to you, and if you're controlling it properly, then that's fine."

Seriana let out a small sigh, cut off her conversation with Liesel, and began talking with Elena next to her.

◇

After she resumed work and some time passed again, just like before, August came to the office accompanied by Rick and Alec.

And he concisely summarized and reported what he'd heard from Sera and Zighart.

During summer, people aren't allowed to enter the northern forest and its western side.

Not only the soldiers patrolling the highways and hunting grounds, but also the Adventurer Guild and Merchant Guild will be strongly told…… and basically, they'll go with the same policy as before, and Liesel and the others who heard that approved.

"So large packs form in the forest at the same timing, huh. It's troublesome, but…… for now, we'll wait and see. We'll continue to put the Knight Order soldiers through trouble, but I'm counting on you."

At Liesel's words, August nodded, saying "Leave it to me."

But August kept his gaze fixed on Liesel, and then continued, "However."

"The Knight Order's shortage of manpower is also reaching the point where we won't be able to keep up soon. Please understand that."

Liesel kept receiving that gaze for a few seconds, but eventually shrugged his shoulders and said, "I understand."--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
