Hey Everyone, hope you're staying warm out there. Wanted to pop in with some updates! (patreon shop discount code available below as well, and updated within tier benefits!)

First off, great news- we sent $2800 in an anti-ICE fundraiser to two organizations for immigrant+community support - the CHIRLA is an advocate for immigrant rights and organizes progressive policies that promote humane rights for everyone, and the other organization is a local food distribution service NELA_fooddistribution that's bringing donations to local neighborhoods where our neighbors don't feel safe leaving their homes and need support. I have a post over about it on instagram, and I'm really proud to have raised more money than I ever would have been able to give myself to a cause I feel is worthy in the face of such cruelty by ICE and our government.

These stickers and print bundles are still available in my shop for preorder if you'd like to help me make the second round donation, I'll be sharing the details/screenshots of next week! I have the Resist stickers and prints made, but the Protect Community stickers are still on their way!

Techy Riso stuff ---

I think I mentioned but I got a second two drum machine so I can continue printing uninterrupted and never have a Riso go down! I'm finding I'm able to hit deadlines a lot easier now, so I'm looking forward to being a little more on top of things this year, rather than just doing endless maintenance to keep printing moving.

I've learned a LOT in the last year having two working MZ two-drum machines! FIRST, i've learned that it's OK when things go wrong and the error codes are continuous. I'll search the code (the code pops up on the top screen of the error) like T27-251 on google and find either through the FB group or through Print Copy. info what the code actually means and how to fix it. Sometimes the code is really scary and I spiral, but sometimes I just re-feed the master into the master making unit, I press reset, I empty the master disposal box, and I turn the machine on and off (not in this order, but as troubleshooting tactics), and I find the solution one way or another. Having a trusted technician to help when the troubleshooting doesn't is also a great peace of mind. Just remember- you're not alone as a Riso printer! I recommend reaching out to other local Riso artists and asking them to share their technician's info so you can get back to printing confidently.

I've also learned a LOT about keeping drums in use, since I now have two different sets of drums- one set of 9 drums for the EZ single drum machine, and one set for the two MZ machines (since they're different sizes and don't interchange). This means every two-three months I have to print SOMETHING on each drum to juice it up, check the health of the drum with a checkered pattern (found in Test Mode code 80), and then print about 40-80 prints on bad paper, and seal it with a confidential master to store it again. This time I waited about 6 months to fix up some drums and was met with a bit of a disaster for my EZ fluo orange drum (which has always been a problem child), and my red EZ drum. They're super dry now and the solution will be doing a full cleaning by taking the drum apart and cleaning the mesh that has crusty dry ink in the little holes the ink gets pushed out on. Such a bummer, but I did it to myself. Now i write which drums have had confidential masters put on them and WHEN.

Wizards of the Coast shenanigans ~

I've been doing a lot more work for Wizards of the Coast and Magic The Gathering lately, and just found out I'll have a table at Magic Con on the west coast in Vegas! Super looking forward to being part of that this year. I have 8...9 cards coming out soon? Very excited to share them when I can.

For now, here's a D&D Holiday card I made for the internal WotC staff this year, which was an honor to be asked to do.

and my buddy Trevor sent me these photos from the WotC front lobby with the shirt I made for the Lorwyn Eclipsed set!! This is also an internal thank you project to the team who made the set! Here's a silly photo with SQUEN in the background!!!!! THANK YOU TREVOR!

And here's a better photo with my AD Kayley! SUCH a cool lobby!!! I want to visitttt

Here are some of the color-ways I pitched to Kayley!

And some of the sketches for the shirt before coming up with the colorways. Also for some reason I changed Eclipsed to Eclypsed at some point LMAO.

And then of course there's the Lorwyn box and insert! Here were the original sketches...

and the finals!!

These were incredibly fun to make, I was thrilled to be part of the Lorwyn Eclipsed set this way!! I just made playmat preorders for these as well if you're interested. Hoping to make Riso prints of these by Magic Con in May!
