Hey, I'm going to make a video of my entire Riso drawing/coloring process for you! One of those sped up process videos where I record over it and explain what I'm doing, like the Nutcracker video I did. I am never sure what to cover, though. Do you have any questions you'd like me to answer while I make a piece? I'll be sharing my sketch process, going into line art, the base coloring/flatting I do and then the color set up for Riso.

Please let me know if you have any questions at all! I'll probably need something to ramble about during this video- even when sped up 2-3x I'm sure it'll be a long video! Thanks!

You'll probably cover this, but is there something specific you do to help with clean registration of all the layers? I have trouble with reliably getting my colors to all line up so neatly.

Probably something you've spoken to before, but I'd be really interested in hearing how you got into riso and what makes it a preferred art form for you! :)

I would like to hear more about the idea process, and maybe a little about composition. Do you ever use reference photos for anything?

Have you ever printed on oatmeal colored paper? And if so did you have to adjust the colors when printing since it's not on white paper?

i would love to hear about your thoughts on shape language, color palette, focal point, and anything design related as well please : )

And also what goes through your mind when you are designing your characters. They are so cute and appealing!

Meredith has students who are doing a Risograph assignment. What were some things about the Riso process and preparing for it that were intimidating? What would you have told yourself when you first starting working with the machines? Any mechanics about making work for it that you wish you knew when you started using it? Thanky.

How do you decide on colours for your piece? Do you already have this in mind before you start drawing?
