Work Snapshot 6/24 (Patreon)

Hello! Here's a little round up of what I'm working on now and just finished up with!
A Forest Haunt with the Hit Record team!
Last month I got to work with my buddies at Hit Record on a short animation for Canon USA! I worked with the same team on Wolfboy and the Everything Factory and getting to do backgrounds and concept art for this sweet little animation was a welcome change of pace from my personal work. I love to work on my Riso prints! I also love to work with people, so it was a fun project for me- especially because it was short term!
here are some backgrounds I did for the short--
I loved doing this 'dark winnie the pooh' style forest too!
Gallery Nucleus Coaster Show - Portland
I also worked on some coasters for the Gallery Nucleus show! I don't make a lot of traditional work so this was a great opportunity to play around with some new materials and just have fun! Below is my favorite of the bunch :3
And here's a shot of all of them!
Working on a new large fantasy poster!
I really want to make more LOTR inspired work...my favorite thing to do is make fan art that isn't explicitly fanart of the thing I'm inspired by! Here's a screenshot of how I'm starting this one.
The Florist sketch
Another sketch- for June's print, the Florist! Another print in the Makers series. Still fguring this one out- just got a lot of great insider tips from my friend Kacey who is a florist by trade! Very lucky to have a friend to run the specifics by for this one. Can't wait to get the drawing down! Should be printing by next week and off to June patrons (anyone who paid June 1st) by early July.
Conventions and Comic Festivals!
I recently went to TCAF - Toronto Comic Arts Festival- and it was a blast! I picked up a bunch of great fantasy art and books, met up with some old friends and got to see absolutely gorgeous Toronto in the summer! Tabling again has been a little jarring but I'm starting to get used to it again. Mostly everyone wore masks at TCAF so I felt safe there as well- a masked event is my personal comfort level. Here's a picture of my booth! I've found traveling with two large suitcases for displays and clothes + large backpack for prints and suitcase full of books is the best way to pack for a con for me personally. I also love to display prints and books using the wooden displays from cleardisplays (dot) com.
I also went to Daiso recently and bought a cork board display case which works really well for stickers! Plus just a regular small cork board for pins and social media QR codes. Let me know if you have any other convention questions- happy to answer!!
This year I'm also headed to:
SDCC San Diego Comic Con / July 21-24
C2E2 - Chicago / August 5-7
ECCC Emerald City Comic Con - Seattle / August 19-21
SPX Small Press Expo - Bethesda Maryland-DC / September 17-18
NYCC New York Comic Con / October 6-9
Lightbox Expo - Pasadena - Los Angeles / October 14-16
MICE Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo / October 22-23
...so many...lol official Nutcracker book debut tour here we GOOOOOOO
Last but not least...
I just finished re-working the Mamuanna print for Riso! I bought a scarlet colored drum, which is a slightly warmer tone red that tends to be less messy than the original Riso 'Red', and I bought this drum specifically to remake this print! It was one of my first Riso prints where I learned that adding various opacities of color together could create a dramatically varied and vibrant print. It was a big breakthrough print for me! Here it is in blue, yellow and scarlet red:
*Fewf* doing a lot!! Trying to keep busy...and make this whole Riso thing work so I can just do this foreverrrrr ToT
Let me know if you have any questions!!! <333 nat
