Howl's Moving Castle / Final Riso Print for Patrons paid on Aug 1 (Patreon)

Hey everyone! Howl's prints are done! I thought I'd send you an update now since I'm starting to send a bunch out today and this weekend. I still owe a Summer/Sunflower Fairy breakdown post and this breakdown will come right after it. Excited to share some of the gritty Riso details with you! Just needed to get caught up on the physical prints first.

Here's the monthly patreon card for August, I couldn't resist drawing a little Markl while he's practicing his magic and taking invitations for The Great Wizard Pendragon. 

Along with the Howl's Moving Castle prints and the monthly patreon card, I've also added an extra little 'bad' print that I think looks fun! Just wanted to share some samples of how Riso registration can be totally wild and create interesting new pieces. You can pin it up like a piece of artwork, wrap a present in it, cut it up and use it as a mobile or throw it away if it's just not your cup of tea ^_^ They're usually test prints, small experiments or paper I'm using to juice up the drums!

For the new $35 tier I'll be sending out an older print I made in Japan during my residency in Kofu, a Secret Headquarters promo card they used Kiki on the cover for and a Happy Birthday bug card! Next month (for september) I'll send the green frog 'Happy Birthday Wild Soul' card and a few others.  

Now that announcements are out of the way, here are some closeups of the new Howl print!! Breakdown of how I made this print coming soon. 

I loved drawing Calcifer!! and had to add the bacon and eggs haha "I don't COOK! I'm a scary and powerful fire demon!! AHHHLAALALALA"

Had to add Turnip Head!

Roller marks got a little sticky on Howl's jacket but other than that the roller marks were pretty mild! We're printing about 50 at a time until the roller marks get too annoying, then we clean the roller and start again. My buddy Printed Pony is helping me print these images this month so I can get back on track!

I definitely wanted to add a bit of the monster demon Howl to this print, so his jacket is changing ever so slightly into his feathered form. I added a transition to both Sophie and Howl's hair too! I love their characters so much at the end of the movie, I didn't want to neglect how much they change, both physically and emotionally.  

Heen!! love the little gradient in his butt. 

Of course had to add the Witch of the Waste, but as a little ball granny...who's got something special that's finally hers. 

Markl having a great time, as he usually does!! Plus some of the little star demon shooting stars running with him. 

Had to add the castle and a bit of the beautiful scenery too!
