bomb! NSFW-ish (Reze, Chainsaw Man) (Patreon)

Finally watched the Chainsaw Man movie and I really really enjoyed it, so I wanted to make some proper Reze art (I drew her for a profile picture commission years ago, but otherwise that's it). Was gonna try to shoehorn in a way to make it more horny, or a way to cover her up and make an alternate version, but...this is the art I wanted to make, just like this.

Put my new Blender knowledge to good use by making my own pose and lighting reference -- grabbed a random character model that had a body type and hair style close enough to Reze's, then spent awhile posing her and lighting the scene and trying different angles and camera lenses. I wanted the lighting to be dynamic, so the first draft I did was entirely in monochrome with completely black shadows and completely white highlights. Then I kept slowly etching away at the shadow edges with smaller and smaller brush strokes, then rake brushes, then messed around with colors until I found a balance I felt good about. Vivid, but hopefully not garish. I really like Reze as a character so I wanted to do her justice.

ALT TEXT

A stylized illustration of Reze from Chainsaw Man. She's nude, her whole body forming a graceful arc from her thrown back head to her curved and twisting waist, looking over her shoulder at the viewer and stretching out a hand towards them. Her other hand pulls the grenade pin at her neck, and a riot of warm colors erupt in spiky brush strokes from that point, along with concentric white circles implying a sort of shockwave. The shadows on her body are deep purple and blue, the highlights on her skin pure white. Rake brushes and a small crunchy pen brush are exclusively used to render everything.
