"Rose travels back to 1987 to witness the day her father died, but when she interferes in the course of events, the monstrous reapers are unleashed upon the world."

Are we all on board that Rose is the problem?

I was waiting for this episode, because yeah, I am on board...that Rose is the problem. I dread this episode on re-watches half because of how irritating. I don't think Jackie remembers anything but that Pete wasn't alone when he died, and since Jackie wasn't actually there it's that some people saw a blonde woman with him but no one could tell it was her--so no paradox I guess? Rose still got away with changing something! The Tardis part, my guess is since the inside is like...a different dimension, even it as an anomaly in time was sent away it still existed somewhere else and the key being a link could help the Doctor call it back. The Tardis always searches for the Doctor when they're separated, the charging part might be reestablishing the connection enough to get back to the Doctor. I am partly guessing with what I know from later seasons though, and that's all I can say without risking spoilers. Thanks for posting!

The tardis is just linked with the key and is essentially acts like a sentient being. So it recognises something was wrong and by boosting the keys power it can get back.

The next two episodes (two parter) are sooooo good and some of the scariest episodes out there.

The whole reason my sister claims she won’t watch the show is that she saw one of the next two episodes.
