Here's me thinking that the movie you teased by saying that it started with a P was going to be Primate. 😂 Instead it was this. I'm glad you read the explanation at the end- saved me from having to look it up myself because I had no flipping clue what was going on.....

I literally left me reading the explanation in at the end because I knew 100% that other people were going to be walking away also confused so I figured I would save every one time 😂

Yes, this is just the thing to get me through my shift!

Okay just finished and wow I honestly did not expect it to be like that? I completely agree about the atmosphere, the whole movie felt like an unsettling dream that slowly morphs into a nightmare. I kinda put together the fire and the balloons thing but I was thinking Maurice was his stepfather and that maybe Phillip had started the fire? It was a great length, any longer and it definitely would've dragged. (Lowkey wanted to see the puppet in full action though)

TBH, I found the movie oddly soothing in parts (obviously not the ones with the THING but in general) but I am also a person who loved In A Violent Nature due to "slow" aspect of it.

I'm really glad you enjoyed this movie, cause I feel like it's pretty hit or miss depending on one's taste. When I first watched it years back, it freaked me tf out cause I kept expecting the puppet's legs come around corners in my apartment and shit but then I watched it again and got obsessed (watching it many more times, reading up on it, listening to the director's commentary etc.) There are so many things to pick up on when rewatching the film, like at one point you said it felt like Maurice and Philipp were talking to each other in riddles, and a lot of that is Maurice gaslighting Philipp and purposely triggering him. I could talk endlessly about this film, so I'll stop before this gets any longer lmao Give your cats some treats and kisses from me pls, very much appreciated their little cameos as always :D ♡
