This movie was sooo disgusting, but you are right, Nick. It was saying a lot about unrealistic beauty standards, societal pressure put on women not to mention the pressure they put on themselves. I could go on and on. On another note- in the original Brothers Grimm story of "Cinderella" the stepsisters did hack up their feet to try to fit into the slipper. One cut off her toe and the other cut off her heal. They ended up blind in the end- I think birds pecked out their eyes, but I'm not 100% sure on that one. The modern day sanitized versions of fairy tales are not at all like the originals. I think Alma (the only emotionally healthy character in this film!) was taking Elvira away to get her away from her mother's influence. I believe she stole some jewelry when her mother was 'entertaining' her guest at the end. I'm assuming she'll sell it to help she and her sister survive. Lastly, Elvira's nose was messed up at the end because she fell on it. When she tossed herself out of bed she broke her teeth and her nose when she landed on the floor. That's also why she was bleeding. I can't wait to see the YouTube edit. 😃
