"Charlie Brewster, a teenager believing that the newcomer in his neighborhood is a vampire. He turns to an actor in a television hosted horror movie show for help to deal with the undead."

I would be so susceptible to those fangs!

Ok, regarding your new rebrand...here's what I'm thinking. Film the scene where the camera walks up on you and pushes you way. Then, make still frames of it with those colors you flashed kind of like an 80s/early 90s "rock" culture. Then, still frame the scene to the beat of the music with the last scene showing you pushing it away, then, Nickysaysboo Reacts pops up where your picture is and the scene behind dissolves out with one of those spackled dissolves.

That 80s music score when we watch the first woman being bitten in the window. That scene scream so much passion and intensity without doing any dialoge. The music also makes me think of "The Lost Boys" and a little bit of Ghostbusters.

I also think that this movie is also one of the first to truly introduce a modern looking vampire and moving away from the stereotype cape, pale face, and Romani English accent.

You know, with a little legit police work, it would have been easy to track her movements down based on her cab ride. All he had to do would be to say "Did any cabbies drive this woman to this address on this night?" and right there he should have at least been a person of interest.

At 20:30 - The guy looks like he was leering at Charlie like a vulture waiting for something to die.

$8 in 1985 is worth in 2026. In today's dollars it'd be like, 28 dollars in purchasing power. So, not shappy for a moment of your time. Consider also minimum wage was $4.25/hr still too.

Ofbricks

23:26 - A complete moment of your complete body going white and fainting from fear.

34:45 - The blood squirt was made fun of in Dracula Dead and Lovin' it.

Evil Ed is by far one of my favorite characters in this movie. I feel the sequel's version didn't do him enough justice.

Ofbricks

Ok I admit that being able to have a moment like that with a real actor like him would be such a treat! 42:00

Ofbricks

Notice how he's always eating apples....as in, bats...like bats love apples.

Ofbricks

Chris Sarandon is one of the hottest 80s actors of all time. I love how he speaks and his facial acting is superb.

Ofbricks

"WHERE ARE YOU GOING, PENCIL DICK?!" Is an amazing bit of dialoge.

Ofbricks

I feel with Ed, there's an entire background story we don't know as far as his life. I feel like Ed is one whose been abused, bullied, beaten, and harassed for who he is. When Jerry comes upon Ed, and he starts sharing what he doesn't have to be afraid of any more...I feel like that Ed truly felt something with Jerry, like someone who never had his back before. Its really sad actually. I feel like Ed personifies a closeted gay kid in the 80s. also.

Ofbricks

Vampire Ed would have been an awesome reoccuring vampire in future movies as the kind of "Incompitent" but cleverly nible vampire.

Ofbricks

1:00:40 - I think Ed tried to look in the mirror at the wound on his head and that's why he yelled at Vincent. He couldn't see.

Ofbricks

The costume design for this movie was so well done. As was the musical score.

THIS SONG! YES

I feel like vampires written in this time were written with the mindset of hunting like a cat. You track your food, you prowl, you pounce, then you play. The thrill of the hunt and the catch drives vampires of this time.

One little fix of this could have been to make Amy 18 and Charlie 17 (Hell, she acts far more mature than Charlie does anyway).

Ofbricks

Ed's death hits so hard...cause you feel so bad for him, his life, and the desperation he must have felt to give himself over to Dandridge.

Ofbricks

The trope of a vampire puffing out after being killed was a trademark of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (series). The rest of the time, they eeither turn to ash in the sun or the dissolve into goo or just are left behind flesh in all.

Ofbricks

I think his caretaker is a Ghoul. Not human, not entirely dead. A kind of Golem perhaps.

Ofbricks

Amy's Hair is so 80s. That kind of hard rock woman look popular in 80s bands.

Whut? Just as I was about to rewatch this on my own? Why would I do that now that I can watch it with my horror buddy??!! Thank you, Nick!
