"Dapper Count Dracula relocates from his Transylvanian castle to Victorian London with his slavish assistant, Renfield, in search of new blood. He finds it in a pair of beautiful young women, Mina and her best friend, Lucy. When Mina's straitlaced fiancé, Jonathan, notices his future bride's odd behavior, he calls in his mentor, vampire hunter Van Helsing, to save the day."

Leslie Nielson steals the show (per usual) in a spoof that I surprisingly LOVED! Another fun addition to the Dracula lore!

HOW DOTH THIS WORKETH?

You will have your own copy, or access to, this film (at the time of posting, it is available for free on YouTube). If you choose to sync up, I will do a countdown, and we will both hit play, this way you can watch along with me.

I remember watching this as a kid and rewinding the coffin/boat scene. I thought it was the funniest thing. Leslie was a gem. Did you end up realizing that wasn't Rebecca?

You need to watch “Bram Stoker’s Dracula”. That’s where the wild hair reference comes from. Van Helsing was played by Mel Brooks, and the woman who did the gypsy character with the throaty thing was Anne Bancroft, the director’s wife an she was an amazing actor. Last thing, watch “Young Frankenstein”. Have a great weekend!

The two brides of Dracula in this movie are "Darla Haun" and "Karen Roe" per IMDB.

1:00:00 - She ate the caretaker that heard her talking in her casket. The one she ate.

Amy Yasbeck was also Maid Marion in Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

Also really fun point: So, Amy Yasbeck and Cary Elwes. Cary Elwes was also in Bram Stokers: Dracula as Mina's Husband. She, Amy Yasbeck played her opposing character in this movie. She plays Mina, He plays Lord Arthur Holmwood who married Mina in Bram Stokers. Amy Yasbeck plays Mina here. Also, between this movie and BS Dracula, they invert who are the main protagonist. In BS Drac, Lucy was the main protagonist and Mina was the first turned vampire in England. Drac Dead and Lovin' swap those two roles.

I really need to watch BM's Dracula. I have not seen that one, and it seems to be a very notable one in the vampire genre.

All of these are getting added to my list!

Yep, it was pointed out to me last night and I was shocked to learn its not her. They look identical to me, lol

Probably one of the more widely known ones for sure!

I loved this! So in several Dracula versions Mina was supposed to be the reincarnation of Dracula's wife. In the novel it was said he liked finding pure and innocent women to turn into his brides. I also read it was because Jonathon stood up to him, but those parts weren't in this film.

River Crestfallen

I highly recommend it. It has an all star cast Gary Oldman, Wynnona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins, Keanu Reeves and Cary ELwes.
