It's a well done film, based on a true story. It highlights the senseless cruelty that can happen in real life. The movie intentionally makes you angry and will stay with you for a long time. I think it's worth seeing once just because it explores an extremely dark part of the human experience that few other films approach in a serious way, but I'll never watch it again and don't blame anyone for skipping it entirely.

This was on my list of might watch when I'm in the happiest of moods because I've heard of the this story and that it's based off of true events. Just hearing about it, I had to take a break so I know I wouldn't be ready to watch it. Grrll, I don't know why you did but I guess thank you because now it's kind of like I'm watching with a friend. I just know I'm not watching it today.

I agree Nick. Hated it. Don't know anyone who could like this. Pure hate. Traumatic. And Jack Ketchum is an author. His book is probably not even done justice by this trash.

hated this movie back then and still hate it now such a disservice to the actual crimes that took place making "torture porn" is one thing but to do this to an actual story where a young girl actually lost her life in a horriffic way is just in the absolute poorest of taste

Okay, who asked for this and why? I need some feel good fun times and this is what I watched? I was drawn in by the free, but should have sprung for the rental of a lighter movie. I did not take enough of a warning from the description post. I had so hoped for a happier ending, but no.

This movie was based on the murder of Sylvia Likens. There was another movie called An American Crime. It was based on the same story. This movie depicted the story in a much worse fashion but An American Crime wasn't any better. Very tragic story of a young life taken too soon💔😪

I've seen this movie before and let me tell you, I've gone through watched all your reactions, but skipped over this one because I couldn't bring myself to watch it. Finally went back and watched it again with you. Still horrific to relive, and I've watched documentaries on the actual case of Sylvia Liken. Sad and disgusting human being. Now to go watch your reaction of a cartoon or something because I need to bring my spirits up!!
