It’s Friday Stylez and your trusty devblog is here a little earlier than usual today as shortly after posting this, we’ll be announcing the new e.p on our non-65LABS social channels. So we thought it was only fair to let you all know first. The new Wreckage Systems e.p is called Mimik and it will be out ON MONDAY. Check our Twitter or Instagram feeds shortly to hear a couple of short excerpts of two of the tracks: Mimik (Brln) and So Long, Linearity! Grab those serious dancing boots and head directly to either the nearest industrial techno club, or illicit rave in a field, depending on which particular nostalgia these noises trigger in your brain. Looking forward to getting this one in your ears.

THIS WEEK

- Just the one new system this week. Bit Drift has arrived from the rainy, VHS streets of endlessly recycled cyberpunk aesthetics. It is less ‘melancholic sound of the raindrops hitting the windows’, more ‘cautiously hopeful sound of the fractured reflections of neon glistening in the streets’. Excerpt above if you don't wanna wait to catch it in the V2 Stream

- Bugfixes - A major bug was fixed earlier in the week. A fortnight or so ago we changed things so that Wreckage Control accesses the weighted probabilities for all the systems remotely. This means we can update the probabilities that each system will play next without needing to rebuild the entirety of the Wreckage Systems software. However, the default probability for any systems that we didn’t add data for was set to zero, and although we added a bunch of new systems over the last couple of weeks, we didn’t add their probability weightings to the remote data. This meant that, unless we were triggering them manually to check that they worked, they were basically non-existent in the stream. This has now been fixed.

- Additionally, to originally test this remote control of our systems, we had turned off the Bowed Bass and Papour systems and had inadvertently not switched them back on. They are on now.

- These updates have been made, the new build is still pending. We should hopefully get this online later today. Remember - you can check the version number on screen to know what’s what. This imminent new version, V2.0.0.6, (or V2.0.0.6b if we made a mistake and need to hastily fix it) will have all 49 systems online and playing in a weighted rotation.

- Mimik is DONE. Here is the artwork. Look at it:

Tracklisting:

1. Mimik (Brln)

2. So Long, Linearity!

3. Synth Ascend

4. Circuit G

5. Mimik (Original)

It’s coming out on Monday. It will hit Patreon first thing, and Bandcamp codes will follow hopefully the same day, certainly by Tuesday.

NEXT WEEK

- Mimik is released! Surely that’s enough for you, no?

- There’ll be work on some more systems, not sure if there will be a new build or not but let’s see how it goes.
