Carol (Ruth Bratt) tells Daniel (Greg Davies) that the combination for the padlock is "1805", which he then remarks is his birthday. Greg Davies' actual birthday is four days earlier, the 14th of May.

'Splat the Rat' is basically a poor man's Whac-A-Mole. A toy rat is dropped through a pipe and you hit it on the way out. Also the other guy tied to a tree was real life snooker pro Dennis Taylor, who appeared in a previous episode as himself, working as a removal man. (You may remember him ripping open Greg's shirt!) By the way, coincidentally, Greg just announced a new standup tour yesterday, so you never know, he may return to Man Down as well one day!
