There's something oddly sweet and profound around Karl's view of the world. I hadn't actually seen Sick of It until Josh started watching it, and I already like it more than anything Ricky Gervais has done recently.

It's so much better than After Life; more honest, less mawkish and not brimming with smug, overblown, would-be profundity like After Life is. He doesn't use the "c" word as a running gag either in place of wit or vaguely inspired dialogue which Gervais evidently couldn't resist. Karl didn't promote the show readily or all that effectively and it's a shame as I think it's superb TV and deserves far more recognition.

Ah yes, After Life. Where Ricky basically plays himself, walks around town being a complete asshole to everyone in his life, calls everyone a c*nt, and gets told by all the cast what a great guy he is. I'm not a fan lol

Hey look it's that fella who hates the IT department and was going to sack them after Denholm's funeral, until Douglas showed up.

Lol I couldn't agree more with both of your assessments of Afterlife. I know a few people who love it and each to their own and all that but I can't stomach it personally.

I agree, I really enjoy hearing Karl's ideas and thoughts of the world.
