Great episode again, John is fantastic :D It would drive me insane looking at all those photos of hands. I'd never heard of that stinking beetle, looked it up and according to Wikipedia they arrived in the UK a few years ago.

Ian Richards

They hit on such a perfect comedy goldmine when they made a team of three from Dara - the quintessential middle-aged logical rationalist - and Fern & John, the addle-brained brother and sister squabbling in the back of the car while their increasingly exasperated Irish dad tries to keep them out of mischief. That entire elephant & giraffe task - from the moment John invents a language that he immediately forgets, right through the despairing "Christ almighty..." when Dara finally gets the chance to speak, and Fern's "your brain doesn't work!" to John in the studio, to the reversal when it turns out that Dara fucked up the message in the first place - should be hung in a gallery somewhere. 100% Taskmaster hall of fame stuff. The story in which Fern played an alien is called The Cone Gatherers (by Robin Jenkins), apparently a staple text in Scottish schools, which the BBC adapted in 2018 as part of an educational series called Invasion Of The Book Readers; the idea was supposedly that aliens come to Earth and learn about our literature by enacting the roles of characters in the story. Her co-star was Richard Gadd, who's recently earned a lot of fame for Baby Reindeer on Netflix. And if you're curious about the dog whose paw featured in the gallery of hands, his owner shared a snapshot or two, and he frankly looks clever enough to do the task better than some of the cast: https://imgur.com/a/dog-paw-TmJd7fv

Munya is redicolously competitive... He's taking this very seriously lol.

Saul

Also, his name sounds like something Fern might yell at a football match. ‘Munya bastards! Youse kin dae it’

Another fun reaction to watch along with! :D Continuing to enjoy these a lot each week. Alternative reaction video title (in the classic 'Taskmaster ep title from an episode quote' style): "... and that's enough about stink beetles."😄

I'm sat here thinking the same thing?!😱🤔🤦‍♂️😔💜
