A small easter egg from this episode is that the little sailor hats with 'ahoy' on them was one of John Kearns's prize task entries in the previous series (the item he'd most like to have on a car journey)!

Jade Nepia

wait ive never seen this season, i missed an entire season?

Saul

I like Frankie but he doesn't seem able to relax and lighten up here. I got the impression that he didn't really want to be there that much, maybe thought it was beneath him.

I think it's because it's not as staged and scripted as a panel show... It's almost like a live setting... I've seen lots of celebrities who are hilarious in sketch and panel shows but are a lot different on chat shows, live settings or anything where they have to think on the spot without pre-thought or without much rehearsal.

Saul

It feels more like the tone of the show doesn’t suit him - it’s quite a sociable, cheery show and he doesn’t seem able to get into it.

Rowan Symons D'Souza

Frankie gets much better as the series goes on imo. As you said at first there's a definite air of him thinking Taskmaster is maybe a backwards step for him, but he loosens up a lot and ends up fitting in with the tone of the show quite well I think.
