I love this one, it scared me when I was little. The next 2 series and specials are very good 👍 I hope you enjoy them

Me too, this was the scariest one for me when I was younger :D My brother and I watched it over and over, it's still one my favourites. It's so enjoyable watching them all again and seeing Josh's first time reactions.

Josh

It was the same for me and my sister. I've not seen them in years so like have been enjoying this with Josh too.

Definitely one of the great episodes. You wouldn't have recognised Peter Davison as the vicar; he's a household name in Britain, having earned his fame inserting his arm an ungodly distance into distressed cows in the veterinary comedy-drama All Creatures Great & Small, before becoming the Fifth Doctor in the early 1980s. There's a lovely touch at 33:56 when they have a theremin playing the first three notes of the Doctor Who theme as Jonathan takes the paint tin off the shelf, which I assume is a nod to Davison's pedigree. (All things considered, it's probably for the best that they paid homage to his Who role rather than the sundry acts of bovine interference in All Creatures, as Jonathan & Maddy can only deal with so much dubious shit on a Friday night.) I think a few of us mentioned it before, but from this point on Stuart Milligan takes over full-time as Adam Klaus, because Anthony Head was fully committed to Buffy; having the character back adds massively to the comedy sub-plots going forward. Also the ginger security guy, Drucker, is played by the late Gavan O'Herlihy, who was the quintessential Guy You Saw In That Other Thing Once; started his career in the first series of Happy Days, popped up in Superman III, Willow, Twin Peaks, Sharpe, and even the pilot episode of Star Trek: Voyager as the Kazon First Maje.

Pippa Haywood is the actress playing Lorna in this episode (the daughter) she is the same actress who plays Joanna in Green Wing so thought you might have recognised her, Josh. Although probably testament to how great an actress she is, seeing as Joanna is a very VERY different character :D She is also in The Brittas Empire if that ever tops a poll.

BelladonnicHazeyJaneII

He did say is that the woman out of Green Wing at first then later decided it wasn't her :D

I know that's what I meant when I said didn't recognise her....tbf probably should have worded that a lot better :D

Ah, this one! The first time I ever saw this episode was when I was bedridden with a REALLY bad flu of some sort. I was full-blown tripping and hallucinating a bit. Needless to say, this story fucked me up massively, and the guy with the severed head at the end freaked me out so much. I can appreciate it now, and I like it, but it will always bring me back to that day. Weird associations with it, hah.
