Woody's mum acting like she's at death's door after that little slap was great, sprawled out on the bed 🤣 Jesus christ this show. It genuinely feels so real. It's horrible and brilliant. This whole show has been one of my favourite reactions you've done Josh, thank you. I'm surprised at how long it took to get voted in! If Combo hadn't really changed part of me wouldn't care what Milky (and his presumably family) wanted to do with him, that would be a matter for their consciences but because he genuinely has changed it's so depressing. He had the potential to be some sort of mentor for other young people to help prevent them going down the same path in the future. With his experiences he could have done so much good. I can't see how Milky would ever be able to carry on in their friend group as normal, keeping such a massive thing from them, especially Lol. He's just harmed himself too :( I just wish he'd stopped it on that first phone call. I've really enjoyed hearing your thoughts. The things you experienced growing up sound like a nightmare. I'm from one of the worst places in England for crime rates and poverty but it still wasn't anywhere close to like what you described 😑 it's a wonder you turned out like you did 🧡

One of the most gruelling, painful, brilliant, important pieces of television ever made, this finale especially but of course, the whole show. I agree Josh - the bittersweet final moments and wedding day joy is overshadowed by the horribly tragic ending to the Milky and Combo situation and when I first saw this back in 2015, I was absolutely devastated. For both Milky and Combo. I guess writers Shane Meadows and Jack Thorne felt that the whole thing should have a realistic ending rather than idealistic. Ideally, Milky would have vowed to forgive Combo eventually. Pressures from his family saw him buckle and I get it but this is why the cycle of hate needs to end. Ideally, Combo wouldn't have fallen foul of such a vile, appalling movement, driven by resentment and hate. Some racists I'm sure are just that - racist. But I believed Combo when he said he actually didn't beat Milky because of his skin colour. When you go back and rewatch the This is England film, you can see the burning jealousy in Combo and how he was consumed by envy. The hateful racist stuff he'd been soaking up alongside that mixed with this soaring resentment of Milky as an individual, everything he had, the life he had, and he snapped. Combo deserved punishment for that. Milky deserved one heck of an explanation and time to forgive, but Combo didn't deserve to die, and Milky will now spend the rest of his life with this hanging over him so in a way, his life is over too. This is why revenge is so wrong. Where does it end? We're all just people. And we're all only here for 80 years if we're lucky. I think forgiveness and revenge were the central themes of this final chapter, and I would much prefer it had been the former. But This is England is so so real. It's about what happens and probably would happen rather than what we want to happen. It's not really a story - it's just life. Stories suggest happy endings but life doesnt guarantee that. And yes, we do leave most of them happy, Milky and Combo excepted. But while we see no real future for these two, for everyone else it isn't the end. As Lol and Kelly's conversation pointed to as it tailed off, just before they walked back in to the wedding reception and the gorgeous music from Ludovico Einaudi crept back in over that last scene, for everyone else, it isn’t the end, but all about the future. Difficult watch but remarkable show - I know it's not your usual genre, Josh, and it was hard going for you at times, but your reactions have been superb and honest and heartfelt. Loved your closing summary too. Thank you. 🙏

Stephen Graham is one of the country's finest actors. He's just won an emmy for a limited series called 'Adolescence'. That's worth a reaction if you haven't seen it already.

The white guys who Combo was handed over to were thugs for hire, certainly not fellow skinheads. At a stretch they could be anti racist skinheads like the SHARP devotees but more than likely they were criminals who do 'jobs' on a commission basis.
