This was a good episode, the way it ended cracked me up. I wonder when Gavin will find out about Stacey's 5 ex-fiances. I'm guessing since the story is moving along at a good pace, it might come up in the next episode. I covered most of what I wanted to cover at the end of the video. I think you missed a subtle joke at the beginning, when Gwen gets off the phone to Bryn she starts whisking eggs, presumably to make yet another omelette!

Gwen called Pam a ‘leek-munching sheep shagger’ basically Welsh stereotypes, the leek is one of the symbols of Wales

Smithy’s girlfriend is Lucy who he mentioned previously but was the one he was on the phone with in the pub in this episode

Don't know if it's been mentioned but the surnames of the two families are Shipman and West. 2 of the most notorious serial killers in the UK had those surnames. Also... Nessa mentioned John Prescott getting her out of jail. He was a very prominent politicians at the time this went out.

Also I’m not sure if this has been mentioned, you may have noticed yourself, but the actor who plays Gavin is Matt Horne who also plays Catherine Tate’s nans grandson

Pam is obsessed with the woman Prince Charles had an affair with when married to Princess Diana--Camila Parker Bowels. He is now married to her. In this episode the joke was "When Prince Charles married the love of his life" you expect Diana but Pam says "Camila Parker Bowels"

Does the show get stronger as it goes on? I enjoyed the first episode but struggling with the last 2 episodes. I'll give it the first season at least as many shows are slow in the first season but i found the last 2 episodes a bit dull to be honest!

In my opinion it does get a bit stronger and I did really like the Christmas episode end of S2. Generally the characters become likable as you get to know them, and thats part of the charm. I think they started to run out of ideas in S3, and there was no way of taking it further without making introducing some crazy plot devices. The whole show is about 2 very differant families united through a marriage and how they meet and get on, only so far you can take that really.

An interesting point I heard regarding Gavin & Stacey is that in a normal tv show they would meet, become an item, and it would culminate in a wedding where the two familes meet for the first time and the show would end there. In G&S they get married pretty much straight away and you see how the two families/friends interact just before and for sometime after the wedding, which is a differant twist on it. I don't think Gavin and Stacey are that interesting as characters (other than how they met, and the family differences). Bascially the show had to stay somewhat bound to reality so it ran out of legs by S3. They could have taken some wild plot twists but it would loose it's charm.

It's weird in that Gavin & Stacey are in a way the side characters, a plot device to ensure that the families meet. The other characters provide the comedy but also the narrative!
