Hello everyone, and happy New Release Monday! Today, I'm very excited to bring you something I've been working on for a while (also a slight departure from my usual map work).

Instead of a full map, today I am releasing my first-ever asset pack featuring The Black Carriage!

This is my first time providing assets, so please do let me know if these work for your gaming table. I'll make some sizing recommendations for a few VTTs below.

Also, while this has been a fun project, don't worry! This is not a departure from what I normally do with maps, and I will be back with a new map on Monday.

There are a total of 24 assets in this pack featuring the carriage from various perspectives. I created more than one perspective to match most of the maps I've done in my own perspective style, so that using the Black Carriage on any of my maps would fit.

Additionally, my older maps are strictly top-down, and I know a number of map-makers who make strictly top-down as well, so there is a top-down asset for you to use to fit those maps.

The carriage comes in three variants:

Carriage with Roof

Carriage without Roof

Roof only

The perspective angles are:

Front View Angled

Front View

Rear View Angled

Rear View

Side View Angled (Front)

Side View Angled (Rear)

Side View

Top Down

I hope the Black Carriage makes many appearances at your game table, whether you're using it for Curse of Strahd or other Dark Fantasy settings, this will surely be a Gothic-Horror filled encounter your players will not forget!

For VTT's, here are a few simple recommendations I have for setting up the token size in both Foundry and Roll20. I know Foundry has some great modules to help with token sizing, but this was using the base Foundry token setup.

Foundry

For the vertical tokens (the front view tokens) I used dimensions on the token settings page as:

Width = 4

Height = 10

For the horizontal tokens, I used:

Width = 10

Height = 4

For the Roof, I used sizes of 6 x 2 and 2 x 6, respectively, which allowed me to move the roof on / off of the wagon (Up to you if you want to use the roof or no roof version on your own map).

Roll20

Roll20 was pretty simple to set up. I just uploaded the wagon as a token and then dragged the corners over the grid boxes until I was happy with the size. While it's probably a little bigger than the actual carriage, I like to make sure the horses take up 2 grid spaces (about 10 feet in length), and the carriage body takes up about 3 grid spaces (This gives you enough to put two tokens on each bench and two more in the middle to cram in six players inside the wagon).

These recommendations are not set in stone, of course, and I'm sure you'll find a size that works for your VTT.

With the Western Gate map launched last week, I hope you'll find this Black Carriage to be a perfect asset to use with that map (or any other road map for that matter).

Next up, I'll be shifting over to the warm, sea-salt-filled air of Saltmarsh with the next map in that series.

I really hope you enjoy the wagon asset and can't wait to share the next few maps with you all later this month.

Thank you for supporting independent and human-made map makers like myself! I am so honored you've put your trust in me to deliver quality maps (and assets in this case), and it's my promise I'll keep working hard to make the best maps I can!

Cheers friends,

DM Andy

I can't wait to see if I actually get to use the carriage in my campaign on Fantasy Grounds. Your maps have been amazing for the VTT module.
