Original Post:

Happy Monday everyone! Hope most of you get to relax on this Labor Day. I know I'm excited to have a day off from my regular job so I can work on maps :)

Today I bring you one of many generic misty road maps I plan to make. This one is pretty basic with a road heading from east to west and lots of forest space for the vampires Minions to skulk about. I do plan on making other roads in different road configurations (including bridges) so stay tuned for more like this.

For my Patrons, this map comes in the following:

  • Grid / Gridless
  • Day / Night
  • Rain / No Rain
  • Night Version with / without lights
  • Clean Version (no rain, no fog, no lights, no night filter)

Enjoy!

Cheers,

DM Andy

P.S. Stayed tuned for next map release as I have something really exciting I've been working hard on!

Matt Derrick

that's awesome, the shadows turned out great!

DM Andy

Thank you so much! I took your advice and lowered the strength of the shadows just a tad and I agree, it came out better. Thanks for your feedback!

Oh sweet! I love these generic maps for random encounters and stuff. Adding on to what you've mentioned, it would be great to have maps for the other crossroads on the map. Such as locations P (Luna River Crossroads) and R (Raven River Crossroads). I tend to use those locations for encounters (both combat and non-combat) as a means to signify that the roads themselves aren't much safer than the woods. Regardless, I love your stuff and will use any and everything you create!

We got shadows now hot diggity dam

ZooBoing

Those look amazing! I always love generic maps, they tend to be overlooked by many map makers and yet I need them more often than the "big" locations. Keep it up <3

DM Andy

Thank you SO much!! Glad you are enjoying my work. I 100% have plans to create every road location in the module / map. I have a few location maps next up and I will most likely work on one of the crossroads or bridge maps next.

DM Andy

Glad you like them! I love the idea of the dark, looming shadows almost "reaching" for your players :)

DM Andy

I agree! As a fellow DM myself, I find I use generic maps more than anything. I have plans to make many more generic road and forest maps in the future.

Love the detail and mood! This is prob a lot to ask, but for those of us using Foundry, it would be great to have the shadows as a separate image. This way we can set it up as an overhead tile so that it applies to the tokens as well for that extra level of immersion. Not critical.

DM Andy

Hey Josh, that's a good idea and I did not realize you could do that in Foundry (Sorry, not a Foundry user myself). Let me look into this and see if it is possible for me to create the shadows as their own assets.

Dungeon of Terra

Much appreciated, allows for the random situations/buying time to figure out what to do next 😂
