Update Sep 22nd 2021: By patron request, I have uploaded a new file called "no bodies" which includes versions without corpses on the night versions of the 1st and 2nd floor. I also included 8k versions and "clean" versions without weather effects or night filters so you can add your own.

Update Sep 14th 2021: Had a request from one of my patrons to upload 8k files so attaching them in two parts (because the file sizes are too big for Patreon in a single file). Note, these are massive files (some are 36mb) so would not be compatible with Roll20 due to upload limits.

Original Post: Happy Monday everyone! Today is an exciting day for me to release Fidatov Manor! I have been working on this series of maps for a while now and though it was a ton of work, I found it super rewarding and I'm excited to share with you all.

If you are unfamiliar with this added content, you can find all the details written by Reddit user u/MandyMod here. If you are looking to add some really great content to your game, this adventure is on brand for CoS and has plenty of social, combat, and puzzle encounters!

There are a lot of maps in this release so I will detail each below with the map dims:

  • Day Version - Roof 40x40
  • Day Version - 1st Floor 40x40
  • Day Version - 2nd Floor 40x40
  • Day Version - Cellar 40x40
  • Night Version - Roof 40x40
  • Night Version - 1st Floor 40x40
  • Night Version - 2nd Floor 40x40
  • Night Version - Cellar 40x40
  • Mirror Battle - 20x20
  • Hedge Maze with Crypt Roof - 40x40
  • Hedge Maze without Crypt Roof - 40x40
  • Crypt Interior (two color versions) - 20x20

Additionally, all of the above comes in grid and gridless and I have a folder in the gridless file named "Clean Versions" which are the night versions without night filters or weather effects so you can apply your own. Just note, the 2nd level and cellar maps have the outdoor fog baked into the textures so I was not able to remove that.

Phew! That was a lot to write but I hope you'll find enjoyment with these maps.

Enjoy,

DM Andy

This looks so good! Can't wait to spring this on my party!

DM Andy

Thanks!! It should be fun to flip the maps on them from day to night >:)

Hi Andy. What is the pixel per square on this one? Generally speaking maps that do not have all squares equal are very hard to align and use in Foundry VTT. I think the squares at the edge are not the same size as the rest, throwing everything off.

DM Andy

Hi there Giannis! The map sizes are 40x40 except for the crypt and mirror battle maps which are 20x20. When the maps are made, they are gridded so they are even and I build the walls / doors right in the center of the grid. You can see the gridded versions as an example of the grid overlay which I work from. Regarding pixels, all of the maps are exported in 4k so they are 4096 x 4096 (both 40x40 and 20x20). I've never used Foundry but I would assume the 40x40 maps are 102.40 pixels per square and the 20x20 maps are 204.8 pixels per square. Hope that helps!

Giannis Laliotis

Hi Andy. Foundry does not accept decimals for Grid size. I did try to align with the Gridded version first. Is it possible for you to export in a size that results in an even square size? Like at 4000x4000 or 4400x4400?

DM Andy

Unfortunately when I export in 4k it does not give me the option to adjust the pixels. However, after watching the Pyram King video he did regarding map alignment, he recommend multiplying the horizonal and vertical square count by 100 to get your scene dimensions for the map. In this case it would be 4000x4000 for the 40x40 and 2000x2000 for the 20x20. This is just a guess since I don't have Foundry to try this out on. You can find his video here and I'm hoping it'll help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lqf3-XxuwDM

Hi Andy. I solved the issue by going for 4000x4000 and the manually dragging the edges of the tile like you would do in Roll20. Just wondering, I remember from the last time we talked that it is possible to extract at 8k. Is it doable for this map? Sorry for the multiple requests!

DM Andy

Okay great! So happy you were able to get it to work. I wish I could provide more support for Foundry. One day I'll get myself a Foundry license just so I can play around with maps and better help troubleshoot.

Sebastien H.

wow so nice map again, really love your work thanks a lot

Converted to Webp (usable in EncounterPlus and i guess in FoundryVTT), an 8k file of 38 Mo drops to 13,5 Mo.

DM Andy

That's great advice JM. I'll have to look at converting to Webp and I can include those files in my future releases. I also want to look into including PDF files to make it easier to print it out.

Giannis Laliotis

Sorry for yet another request Andy-san, but is there a night version without all the corpses?

DM Andy

Hey Giannis! Just uploaded a "no bodies" folder to include this version.
