Wheeling into Blender 2.8 (Patreon)
Content
As some of you may be aware, there has been some big news recently regarding my modeling tool of choice – Blender. As such I am in the process of migrating my project files to Blender 2.81 and SCS Blender Tools 2.0. While the file conversion is mostly automated, there's still a lot of careful inspection to be done to make sure everything is still present, and a lot of re-organizing to ensure that the files are navigable and productive for me.
In the meantime, I figured I would give you guys a look at one of my backburner trailer projects. This is a set of Wheeler grain trailers, based on units they produced in the 1990's. Wheeler was a trailer and truck body manufacturer out of Morley, MO. I'm not sure what happened to them, but they had a very interesting pendulum style hopper gate.
This is the first trailer project that I've started where I've had the full intent of including multiple body/chassis configurations before the major texture assets are complete, rather than leveraging additional body/chassis configurations afterwards. Therefore, it's kind of an experiment in workflow for ownable trailers. Hopefully we'll see if it's a successful experiment later this year. 😉
