the director originally wanted Daniel and Miranda to get back together. both actors had gone through divorces and told him that this would provide children false hope if they're going through divorces. as a child of divorced parents, they made the right call. it's better some divorced couples stay that way. no more fights that kids have to listen to. i had to go through that for 11 years till my parents split and i have to say i was able to go to bed feeling safer once it was over between my mom and dad

You noted that he (Robin Williams) is so quick with the comebacks. He improvised so much on this film it created over 2million feet of film packed away in over 900 boxes. For this one movie. So much of what we saw wasn't scripted. The man was a genius.

I know October is going to be horror month, which will be great, but once that is over? 1980s: Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead, Hiding Out, Stripes, Private Benjamin, and Caveman, and for October if you haven't seen them, The Lost Boys and Near Dark. 1990s: Encino Man, Airheads, and Class Act.

1 Day a week, that's what my dad got. I didn't even know the man hardly until this last 3 years, & what I discovered, I just can't believe my mum allowed that. She's just barely aware of anything, I get that he could be aggressive when he had a drink in him, but he never did when he picked us up n that, that was not a problem, but it never changed, & then 1 day he just wasn't picking us up anymore & I never saw anything as to why, just happened, nobody said anything, & then it was just forgotten about. 1 day a week..... Absolutely bloody insane, I missed out on so much life saving valuable experience, it's taken me 30 years just to get somewhat stable, mainly because I started talking to him & discovered this fascinating character who's mind never switched off, he was like me, if I'd been born 60 years before. Of all the shit I've heard about him over the years, not once did I hear of the depth his mind could go too. 1 day a week should be illegal excepting in real domsetic violence & abuse cases God I used to love this movie, but I just can't stop seeing the worst pointless narrcisism in her now. She is just the worst, human being, & she just does not care about him or the kids. She played the shit out of that role, but it's just Too toxic, it certainly seemed to work for me as a kid, not now, she is just Theeee worst. Imagine doing that to a loving father And the kids. Because what? she doesn't love him anymore, or resents the world for her failing to find joy in it so she has to destroy her kids chances @ a good future with their father. Oh what am I saying I still love it, but I had to pause thise for an hour before coming back to finish it.
